Can I ask if you made the dining table - I'd like my hubby to make something similar but skinnier for our hall table and wondered how you sourced the wood etc. Thanks Annette For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Re: Hill House - far south coast 108Jan 11, 2012 5:23 pm MissyP, Thanks you so much for such a lovely compliment, I am glad you like it, there is much more to come yet so I hope you stay tuned for further installments. Annette, I had a local furniture maker build it for me as I was running out of energy and would not have done such a great job of it. We got the timber from a shed that was demolished locally, 3.6m x 100 x 240 spotted gum floor joists, this time round they have a little more glamour This is who kindly made the table for us. http://www.timbertrip.com.au/table-chairs-3.html Nick at Timber Trip uses recycled timbers for all his work, so it is 'normal' for him, that obviously suited our needs, he is good craftsman and I love his work. To build or not to build, that is the question. Re: Hill House - far south coast 110Jan 28, 2012 4:55 pm Thanks for the lovely feedback. I am about to get the tools back out again soon and start some building again now Christmas is out of the way. I have gone back to full time work so I am not sure how I will go , I am pretty inspired to press on with the next pavilion this year though Steve My building project - Hill House viewtopic.php?f=38&t=13537 Who you have in your life is more important than what you have Re: Hill House - far south coast 111Mar 14, 2012 3:21 pm Hey Steve, Been a month. Any progress? Love watching your house being built. Building tip No. 3: A raft slab will not get you down a river. A waffle pod slab does not go with maple syrup. My building thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53000 Re: Hill House - far south coast 113Mar 14, 2012 5:27 pm Barker, yep some progress but the new job is eating most of my time, I will get onto posting some pics and a bit of an update soon. Howie, the time limit is on starting the project in NSW (2 years to start) but I do not think there is a sunset date ( I may be wrong but an extension would be probable, we are getting interim occupation certificates as we go so we can occupy. How does the interim occupation certificate work ? Then as the other pavilions are built you move across. Building tip No. 3: A raft slab will not get you down a river. A waffle pod slab does not go with maple syrup. My building thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53000 Re: Hill House - far south coast 118Apr 12, 2012 10:13 pm My understanding of the Interim Occupation Certificate is that you need laundry, kitchen and bathroom only. Basically a studio apartment. So you can get away with a microwave, toilet, shower, washing machine and sink as an absolute minimum.
