Browse Forums Windows & Doors Re: Built in robes - drawer size 2Jul 10, 2008 7:54 pm lozgill We are getting BIR put in and they are custom made. We are having two built ins either side of a window and then under the window drawers. I am wondering what is an acceptable depth for each drawer. They will be 3 up and 3 across. Top drawer will obviously be for knickers, the other two for t shirts, jumpers etc. Please help! I want to order asap as not having built ins is doing my head in! HI Lozgill The usual depth (height) of a wardrobe draw is 200mm Depth from front to back is 400mm Width (side to side) 350mm, 450mm or 550mm Other sizes are made to order Best Price Wardrobes Sliding door robes | Walk in robes Deco panel | Mirror | Melamine 26 to 28 Cottage lane Hackham M: 0402 927 376 http://www.bestpricewardrobes.com.au Trade welcome Re: Built in robes - drawer size 3Jul 10, 2008 10:09 pm Hi Lozgill,
Do you want them to look the same? Or are you more interested in what you have to store in them? If you want them to look uniform then measure the depth of the space and divide by 3. If you want to store particular items, measure what you have to store then make the drawer that depth. One thing make the top one the shallowest, getting deeper as you go down. You may want to have jewelery in the top one and it only needs to be 100mm deep. 200mm is a good size for all your underwear. Paula Re: Built in robes - drawer size 4Jul 10, 2008 10:37 pm Thanks very much for your responses
Top drawer would definitel be underwear. we have 670mm available to us (total height is 790mm but we are allowing 120mm to match our skirting) We are not that bothered about them all looking the same...or should we be? So the options would be that they are all 223mm or top one 200mm and the other two 235mm. would the second option look ok or for the sake of 10mm in each of the bottom two just choose the looking all the same option? Dear Members I have to decide the Facade column size. My custom builder standard is 350mm with rendering, but i asked for 470mm plus stone or tiles and yet to get… 0 4299 All sorted guys.
