So for now, I will just enjoy the fact I can grow all these fruits eventually knowing they'll be a lot happier when the roots have more space to grow in. Re: Who needs grass out the front when you can have an orcha 6Dec 09, 2011 1:24 pm Well that makes me happier! We moved into our place on 1 acre last Christmas and I spent the winter prior to that planting out the orchard & berry beds! Take a look at my thread if you like. Is that saying too much? Re: Who needs grass out the front when you can have an orcha 9Dec 10, 2011 4:11 pm What a great food garden you have there! not sure I'd want to move all those pots to mow, can you get treelopper mulch free in your area? The local treeloppers around here have several community dumps where you get as much as you need free...have to shovel it into the trailer/ute and onto the garden when you get home but that's OK. When I was there two days ago they had pine mulch in a separate heap which I thought was considerate. Specifically wanted a Keitt mango, but will probably settle for a Nam Doc Mai. Re: Who needs grass out the front when you can have an orcha 18Dec 11, 2011 4:17 pm What type of Passionfruit milkman? Mine are still in pots but there is a Panama Red and a yellow skinned, large fruit variety...name escapes me atm. Once the driveway is done I hope to put a large piece of steel mesh on the north facing garage wall and plant the Pashies there. Only need to get trailers etc into the backyard now and then but will keep them fairly well tied back to the mesh.
