Air con will be hooked up and registers fitted then as well. Also getting Blinds fitted this day and flyscreens, if they are ready. Concreting at rear and side of house (maybe) 9th December New freezer delivered 10th December. possibly moving fridge in this day too. Carpet 12th December Moving in 16th December New bed delivered 17th Driveway and path will have to wait. Concretor doesn't want the moving truck parked on it for a month after its poured. Said we can drive over it after 3 days to a week. Practice run #1 with a chook has been done (got a new weber kettle) and the finer details of cooking are all set. Practice run #2 should hopefully be on 16, 17 or 18th December. Re: Finished/in before christmas 5Nov 18, 2011 1:25 pm We have our fingers crossed for Christmas too! Concreting is getting done today Tiling 21st November Floor sanded & sealed Glass Splashback Electrical Plumbing - taps, hot water Painter touch ups Carpet Hmm, can all this happen in 4 weeks or so?? Re: Finished/in before christmas 6Nov 24, 2011 12:55 pm I really am hoping we are in before Chrissy, if not I think I will cry, then go crazy... four of us in a 6m x 6m room for the past 4&1/2 months is finally doing our heads in!!! Anyway what we need to do: Get floors sealed (hopefully late next week) Get balustrading done on balcony (must have to move in) Finish painting walls, inside and out Paint all woodwork Order and install a front door Get oven wired and gassed up Hot water was hooked up today, so was the all the sinks etc. Kitchen finished on Monday Tiling finished last Friday And of course we need to move, but I don't honestly care anymore, as long as we have a bed each, some changes of clothes and basic food everything else can happen when it happens, I just want to live in more than one room! We are going to be living in a half finished house for a while so carpets, showerscreens etc will be done next year. Is anyone else getting the comments from tradies and suppliers about how we need to get in now and order or it won't happen till Feb? Everyone is ramping up for Christmas again. One glass supplier said they couldn't even quote till December and they currently have a 20 day wait at the powder coaters. It is so depressing seeing tradies working on your house but not actually getting much done, especially this close to Christmas and the close down. Re: Finished/in before christmas 13Nov 28, 2011 1:35 pm [quote="humble"]Was going to, and then the painter killed it.. /quote] Our tiler just killed ours!! They couldnt order shower screens until he was finished and he didnt turn up when he was ment too! Re: Finished/in before christmas 14Nov 29, 2011 10:09 am Good luck to everyone trying to get in before Christmas. Had our walk through and not too bad a result. Booked handover for 12pm 9th Dec. Now to organize the rest of the stuff so we can get in before hand too. Re: Finished/in before christmas 15Nov 29, 2011 3:28 pm You guys are lucky we are waiting to start and pray I get a slab before xmas! Every other builder in our estate is mainly at frame stage and we are still a pile of dirt. We all got settlement at the same time! http://lindeman28.blogspot.com - Our building blog Re: Finished/in before christmas 16Nov 29, 2011 8:23 pm We have our handover all booked in for the 21st Dec!!! & that's with floors sanded/polished & carpet laid However....DH goes back to work in the field on the 22nd for two weeks Actually it's a bit of a blessing is disguise we are currently living in a tiny house on the same block (2 acres) so rather than have him move everything across in the one day & leave me stressed & busy arranging, I have 2wks to fill cupboards, sort wardrobes etc all ready for him to move the heavy stuff when he gets home. I hope it's as smooth sailing as it sounds. Since the house we are in is so tiny we literally have no where to put a xmas tree, I have told the kids we will put the tree up in the new house on xmas eave so Santa can leave the presents there Building our custom design "Dream Home" Follow my Build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46820 Contract Signed - 28/04/11 Siteworks Commenced - 20/06/11 Not sure who you're building with, but I moved in recently to a 11month scheduled, 8 month actual build on the South coast/Illawarra NSW 3 5913 interesting situation what happened after builder issued final invoice? did you list as defect or not does the building surveyor have any responsibility? ie. issuing… 13 46961 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
