Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Nov 25, 2011 5:16 pm Hi as stated in the title the shed is buildt on top of the slab with the walls going down over the slab, my last shed didnt do this and im at a loss to why these guys did. Anyway. Im trying to fill the gaps and make it pest proof. I tried silicon gap filler but that just sagged down and fell through. and looks like crap. Id thought of filler foam but that can get out of hand. Any ideas? Re: New shed with gaps around walls (slab/wall) 2Nov 25, 2011 5:28 pm l had same problem had slab layed then shed on top,l got steel wool from bunnings. It does rust l found so far it's working. Re: New shed with gaps around walls (slab/wall) 3Nov 25, 2011 5:42 pm Why not get a bag of quickset cement from the Big Green Shed? mix as per instructions on the bag and fill the holes, you might need something at the bottom of the sheets to prevent it from falling right through, as happened with the gap filler. I imagine it would be much cheaper than gap filler. If you plan to use steel wool buy the 'stainless steel' variety. Re: New shed with gaps around walls (slab/wall) 4Nov 25, 2011 5:48 pm my concern with cement is the mess... but a combo of both steel wool and cement might work. Fill the bigger gaps with wool creating a blockage for the cement to hold on to. Re: New shed with gaps around walls (slab/wall) 5Nov 25, 2011 7:00 pm There is a product called Vermaseal, which consists of lengths of moulded plastic that fit the profile of your shed wall, but alas it should have been fitted when the shed went up. You might be able to retrofit it by loosening off your wall sheets. Links: http://www.shedproducts.com/prod2-vermaseal.html http://shedblog.com.au/vermaseal-purchase/ Geoff - Decophile. Re: New shed with gaps around walls (slab/wall) 6Nov 25, 2011 8:18 pm Vermaseal... while not perfect... I can easily make something similar.... looks good.
