Matt Re: Just for a laugh: what the kitchen lady said to me 3Apr 27, 2007 4:01 pm Hey Mek,
I know you weren't expecting (or possibly wanting) any replies, but I had to step up to it anyway. I lived for four years in Germany in the mid nineties and I think I can understand exactly where she is coming from. For a German kitchen to really show it's full potential it needs to be in a German environment. Try as we might, we here in Australia just can't get the same "feel" (in German gefuel) when showcasing products as those hardcore Germans. For one we don't have the architecture. It is one of their specialities. I believe it has as much to do with the surrounding environment as with the product on display. A comparison could be drawn between shopping for clothes in a Parisian boutique and a shop in Oxford Street (Sydney or London...) Even if it is the same designer label store, the one on the Champs Élysées will definitely make the biggest impresssion - maybe it is just the native sales staff looking down their noses at you... But hey, you could find a worse excuse for a quick European jaunt. You just have to find a way to write it off as product research or something. Maybe you could invite your accountant to accompany you. Qualitaet ueber alles! Cheers, Earl Re: Just for a laugh: what the kitchen lady said to me 5Apr 27, 2007 4:35 pm mek Only my accountant would not be happy paying for the trip, the kitchen and the house. He's my husband. That shouldn't be a problem for him - he can just declare it as a tax deductable gift for one of his best clients - marketing and promotion! After all, he does have to keep you in his good books. Have fun - I can give you a good contact in Berlin if you really want to party. Cheers, Earl No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6793 2 4745 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7513 |
