Browse Forums Building A New House Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 1081Oct 21, 2011 1:38 pm I know what you mean. We had both tree's on out block right in front of the crossover. Of course it's where the garage would go!! where else is it going to go?? Why would you agree to a crossover there on the developers plan and then insist that the tree's have to stay?? We went through all of that. Very frustrating at the time. I'll be taking about a month off work when it's time to move in!! close....oh, so close.... We never got an arborist report and never needed one! Which saved us $500! We though initially we had to get one but then checking with council, we didn't. We didn't know what gums ours were but the council did. We made a nice long letter giving many reasons why they needed to come down, and what we would replace them with, and had a meeting with the council in person to discuss it, and it was all ok. Agreed! It is stupid you can buy a block and have so much trouble removing trees to be able to build on it! Good Luck!!! Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 1085Oct 24, 2011 9:16 am catlover Hey Danni, ours is the block at the bottom of the reserve diagonally opposite. With trees on it, at the moment anyway. Your house is looking great! Must be excited its almost finished Thanks, I'm pretty happy with our colour choices and I sure am getting more excited that its nearly finished, I cannot wait to see the inside!!! And then to move in, & start decorating. Landscaping too hehe. Will be a person of many trades lol I'll have to take a walk down, and see if I can work out which block is yours.. Looks like our neighbours on the other side have started, haven't meet them yet, sure we will in time. Happy building. Alot of taps have been installed!!! Looks like everyone building with Boutique Homes?!?!?!? We are still holding out for council with our trees. Susy, you guys didn't need a report on your trees - lucky you! When are you taking them down? We have since had to get an aborist in to write a report, more money! It then goes to council for a secondary meeting...... The wait continues. Hey Guys, so we are also part of stage 3 and found out from Telstra you can get ADSL or ADSL2+ over the phone lines, just no cable internet. How has everyone else gone with their tests? Many M or H classes? And for those P classes, did it add on much more costs?? Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 1095Oct 28, 2011 11:55 pm Trees are down!!! Finally we can get a move on Hey 818, we are getting soil tests next week, had to wait for trees to come down. Who are you building with? Our plans are being submitted to the developer as we speak, our builder says it will take at least a month to get approval? Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 1098Oct 29, 2011 9:30 am I can confirmed that for the block between Rappold, Temple Miles, The Range Boulevard, there is no internet cabling, only phone. As Shane said telstra is not going to put ADSL cabling anytime soon. So we have different option. First write to Mervin Chetty, what we are going to do today, second stop by the office at the Range, what we will do today as well, and thirdly call the council to seek their advice (next week); I work from home so for me is important to have a high speed and reliable service. We did have wireless services in the past with really bad results.. so ADSL is our best option. Will see. Anyone have another idea? They say probably a month too. Hopefully it doesn't come back with problems that cause more delays! But even still, won't have site start till January. Has everything gone well for you with Metricon? Its very very concerning as we go though Gigs of internet a month Catlover - yay for your trees! we are still waiting on developer approval, apparently our down pipes are the wrong colours, who the heck cares about down pipes that are are invisible from the road?? and, actually, they DO match our bricks (grey pipe, matched with red and grey bricks with grey mortar).
