Mine can take anything from 24hrs to 4 days.. Hi cattycatcat, It’s good to see you’ve had some responses from humbe, Wateman, Alpal and thebigbuild. I would say anywhere from 24 hours to 5 days is to be expected. Are you using your 24Seven tool? If you are finding this to become a little more of a concern please just let me know via private message as I’d be happy to help. Cheers, Ebony Porter Davis Homes Questions? Cheers, Ebony Sorry Ebony, 5 days is not acceptable for a reply to a email.. under ANY circumstance, if thats the case, you may as well ring, or write a letter. Re: Porter Davis homes 3451Oct 13, 2011 12:57 pm humble Sorry Ebony, 5 days is not acceptable for a reply to a email.. under ANY circumstance, if thats the case, you may as well ring, or write a letter. +1 Or send a messenger on horse-back. I think if PD want to push people along with time frames - eg 'you only have 48hrs to make changes after your colour + electrical appts, and you only have 3 days after you sign contracts to change your mind, and you aren't to cause any delays. Oh but if you ask us a question we will take a week to acknowledge you' Then they should also work in a timely mannor. Re: Porter Davis homes 3452Oct 13, 2011 1:19 pm tstr1a Wow talk about progress........... Your house is coming along at a cracking speed. I think it’s the best time to build as jobs are getting scares and tradies can start on time and have the patience to complete the job with quality. Yeah, I am not complaining. But we did notice in the study a small hole in the plasterboard that went thru to the other side the size of a 20 cent piece and also a tear at the top of that same piece of plasterboard. Hubby mentioned to our SS this morning that he wants that piece pulled down and re-done as it's not acceptable. We accept and understand there will be stuff ups but we also want things rectified in the proper way, not a patch up job. We're planning to have a walk thru possibly next week to pick up any other stuff ups. But overall they've done a great job. We've reached lock up stage now and we're told the bill is coming in the next few days. You can almost guarantee they are trying to do and say nothing until the cooling off period is up. I have dealt with a tonne of different companies for my job, and never come across somebody in customer service that is so blatantly unhelpful and uncaring in regards to their customers. It feels like anything of difficulty is ignored and hoped to go away. It's great to see people on here raving about how great the BC's are, just as I did with our original sales person, but these things should not be the exceptions they should be the rule. It should be part of the job to do what you can to help your customer, in my employment our customers are spending a fraction of the money with my employers that I and everybody else on this forum is spending with Porter Davis. Yet it seems we will go to more effort to help somebody that is going to spend $100 with us than PD do with people that are spending $200,000. How they won awards for most professional builder etc is beyond me. Wateman, if you haven't already, send what you require in regards to the niche via email. Even email them a copy of my niche drawings saying that it can be done because they have done it here. It will be dated and if they get back to you after the cooling off period then you at least can say that the email was written within the cooling off period so this should count. We were stuff around a bit in delays of re-drawing the final drawing, because we found some errors and my administrator gave us 2 weeks after we signed our contract to come back and view the drawings again before we signed off on the drawings themselves which lucky we did because we found a couple more things the draftsman forgot to change and they were rectified in 20 mins. But we had two weeks to make further changes and a very good administrator. Again these weren't structural changes but internal changes. Otherwise go to the office 1st thing tomorrow morning and demand to see someone about this. I am actually very happy I was just trying to find and average reply time so I knew what to expect. In saying that tho... If it took anyone 5 days to get back to me regarding a simple request, even if it takes them 5 days to just acknowledge my enquiry I wouldn't be happy... This is sick! Re: Porter Davis homes 3456Oct 13, 2011 5:37 pm Rups It's a completely separate line item in the contract, and is not 'bundled' with any other pack (like the smart wiring one for example). Nor is it included in the standard services connection item, which is only for water, gas, elec and waste. You will need to ask your BC to add it in, as it is not a standard item they include (beats me as to why not!) Ours is written as "provide Telstra underground cable trench up to 20m" $308. Not sure what heading it would appear under in your contract as ours was done as a PCV Hi Wrote to my BC and the production team at PD has advised her that Porter Davis will complete all of the pre wiring inside your home and will have a junction box installed below your metre box that will have a conduit connected to it that will go underground out to the Telstra pit in the footpath. I wonder in such a case if one will still have to pay Telstra an additional amount. Has anyone that has finished construction been in a similar situation. Cheers Hi J&C, After that you then just pay Telstra for the connection. Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 12173 Ask for references and speak to them.
