Putting a fish tank on it !! ? A definite NO. Also if the glass shelve holding the tank were to collapse, it would take with it all the shelves below it as well - quite an expensive mess. Re: HELP with glass shelves Please! 7Oct 07, 2011 11:47 am Thank you everyone for you replies, i did have a strong gut feeling this was a stupid question to begin with. Someone asked for a picture http://www.google.com.au/imgres?q=sucti ... r:14,s:123 Thats what the suction cups look like they are glued and set into holed drilled in the iron bar. So there are two iron bars running from the front to the back of the shelf with two suction cups on both support bars (one on each corner of the glass panel). I think it is the safest option to get a stand of some sort that is made for much more weight than the tank, considering its my daughters room i would rather not wake up to a scene from finding Nemo. Not only will i have water damaging my roof upstairs , my daughter may also get some funny ideas. Thanks everyone. Really, not a good idea at all. ^^ This. Everything I've read here is a terrible idea - I'm sorry, but there's just no other way I can put it. Form is great, but don't -- with function.
