Did you get HD pay TV or just normal pay TV point? Do you know if we can have 2 extra data point on top of the light wiring pack (4data, 2 tv, 2 phone)? I was told enclosure will be 400W x 700H x 200D. Re: Porter Davis homes 3364Oct 06, 2011 8:45 pm Rups Land has titled!! Settlement booked in for next Friday 14/10...!! So many delays and excuses after we’ve paid them 90% of the contract..very incomepent – we completed the lockup stage on the 15th of JULY..since then they’ve been dragging it on and on..BSS inspection delayed 4 times..Have been giving dates for the BSS inspection since beginning of September..Next one on Monday.. Building a Cannonvale – guaranteed build time 18 weeks(during the sales process), but they get you to sign a contract for 23 weeks + 4 weeks for Christmas. We made mistakes – 1. please get a copy of the contract before you sign up and read it! (they will rush everything on that day) 2. check the house against your specifications and selections as often as possible 3. when you select bricks – go to a display house and check how it’ll look (don’t go by the samples at Hopetoun – ‘Pearl GREY Velour’ brick is going to be an ORANGE colour!) If this is useful to atleast 1 person – I’m happy… Re: Porter Davis homes 3366Oct 07, 2011 8:37 am Megara Just to caution everyone who’s building with PD – be very carefull,, DO NOT TRUST THEM.. I mean, you wouldn't spend $350,000 on building a house and not check things over a few times?! Hopefully you get handover soon. Re: Porter Davis homes 3367Oct 07, 2011 9:20 am Rups Land has titled!! Did you get HD pay TV or just normal pay TV point? Do you know if we can have 2 extra data point on top of the light wiring pack (4data, 2 tv, 2 phone)? I was told enclosure will be 400W x 700H x 200D. Hi Visine, Don't get me started on the smart wiring! I had so much trouble getting answers! In the end I was on here asking people in Henley threads as they use Argus too. Hopetoun had trouble understanding what I was asking, and Argus didn't bother to answer anything at all. At my electrical appointment at Hopetoun they signed me up for the Smart Wiring Light pack. The next day I emailed them and asked if I could add TV points to all bedrooms (I can't believe I forgot this on the day) and one more data point. 2 weeks later, when I started stressing about the enclosure they use and not being able to add more data points in later, I emailed Hopetoun asking about the enclosure they use etc. They then informed me that I was signed up for the 'Opticomm Four Pack'. I didn’t know they had changed me to this before then, Opticomm aren't servicing my estate, but oh well I guess they know what they are doing! When I asked about the enclosure they were only able to tell me that they use ‘BR’ Enclosures. I had a look, and I’m pretty sure these are just the outdoor ones, that have the fuse box and a separate section for the ONT. Anyway, I ended up getting help from somebody on here who was building with Henley and had dealt with Argus. They said the four-pack uses the small enclosure(max 8 data points), the eight-pack uses the mid size enclosure(max 16 data points). I have no idea what the Smart Wiring Light package uses, but obviously they had to upgrade me when I added a 5th point. So to cut a long story short! I bit the bullet and got the Opticomm Eight-Pack. I have 1 Home Theatre plate, that has HD pay TV(2 points), normal TV, phone and data on one wall plate. Then the rest were standard plates that have normal Pay TV(1 point), TV, phone and data. With the Eight Pack I was allowed 1 Home Theatre plate, and 7 standard ones. I didn’t need all the standard ones, as our house doesn’t have that many rooms, so I just put a couple of extra data points in spots. It cost extra, but with this I should have the ability to add more points later on if I need to. With the Four-Pack, if I wanted to have more than 8 points later on (I already had 7) I would have needed to change the enclosure to fit the hardware. And also would like to know the cost of adding windows in the main bedroom and meal room, the house type is Regatta, looking at the house plan, I just realize that there is no much window on the left hand side of the house. TIA Re: Porter Davis homes 3372Oct 09, 2011 10:22 pm mqtutor Hi All Anyone know how much to add roller door to the rear of garage (instead of normal door)? TIA Hi Mqtutor, Not sure about the roller door, but the windows will depend on the size. If its a std size than it will not cost you more than 300 (saves on brickwork) but if its a irregular size and the frame is a custom job then it will cost much more. Also be careful about windows down the sides as if they are overlooking your neighbours they have to be opaque. Hope this helps.. Interested to see if anyone has experienced issues with the freestanding oven or dishwasher. Have spoken to some people and they have told me their having issues with these but the Blanco appliances are 4+ yrs of age. Anyones feedback is greatly appreciated Cheers, Alpal Building PD Heathmont 40 BLOG: http://alpal-pd-heathmont40.blogspot.com/ Deposit paid 19/08/2011 Contract signing 3/10/2011 Site Start 10/11/2011 Slab 23/11/2011 Re: Porter Davis homes 3374Oct 10, 2011 7:22 am Alpal Hi all, Quick question - has anyone moved in yet that can give their opinion of the Blanco appliances? Interested to see if anyone has experienced issues with the freestanding oven or dishwasher. Have spoken to some people and they have told me their having issues with these but the Blanco appliances are 4+ yrs of age. Anyones feedback is greatly appreciated I had Blanco oven and stovetop in my previous newly built home. (we were owner builders so I hand picked all my appliances and thought I was getting the best with blanco) I would never ever go with blanco again. When I was told I could upgrade my appliances in my new PD home I said a quick no when they said blanco. Blanco oven rubbersealer repeatedly would come off in the oven. Even though it was under the warranty period they would fix it but it kept undoing, then it became out of warranty. The fan in the oven stopped working after 16 months. The cooktop never ignited properly I had the service man ( when under warranty) tell me I wasnt holding down the button long enough apparently I needed it hold down for 4 mins before it ignited Then after 1 year it didn't ignite at all. My cousin had the exact same problem with her blanco appliances, maybe we both got duds. I am happy to have my standard tecnika this time round Re: Porter Davis homes 3375Oct 10, 2011 7:48 am mqtutor Hi All Anyone know how much to add roller door to the rear of garage (instead of normal door)? One thing is my SS never contacts me to let me know of progress on the build. He has also been quite hard to get hold of, with his mobile always going to answer machine. Anybody got any tips on how I can get him onside? TIA We added 2 windows to the family and meals area of our Regatta 23, each measuring 2100 mm high by 2400 mm wide aluminium sliding windows. Cost us $250 each. (We were quoted $220 each for 1200 mm high by 2400 mm wide windows). It's worth adding the windows as the house becomes much brighter than the display home.
