Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Size and cost 33Apr 24, 2007 2:05 am We're thinking about signing off with National Builders for $7750 per square including site costs, double storey, evap cooling, down lights, an upstairs decking and downstairs alfresco room, double garage, all kitchen appliances, quite a few structural changes, but no floor coverings apart from wet areas. Re: Size and cost 34Apr 24, 2007 8:46 am brittany,
Your $7750 per square price ($840/m2) fits in well with the "Project Home - Base Standard" price listed earlier. Once you add flooring you'll probably be exactly at the "Project Home - Base Standard" price level. You've got a few inclusions which makes it a good deal. Does your price include site costs? Does it include Coucil charges etc? Cheers, Casa Re: Size and cost 35Apr 26, 2007 5:18 pm mek, a custom house for $1050/m2 is great to hear. Is it a modified project home or something designed just for you from the ground up? Also does it include site costs and all the other odds and ends?[/quote]
All included. We were hit with a substantial invoice for additional concrete but I've included that in the m2 price. pasey25, we are building with Meletis Homes. Re: Size and cost 37Apr 29, 2007 11:10 am Ok, so I did a bit of research on this yesterday.
I picked up the latest copy of the Herald Sun's Display Homes magazine - which has just been released. This magazine features 108 display homes with size and cost listed. There are several others which don't list the price too. These are for display homes around Victoria What I did was copy down all this data into an excel sheet and do some statistical analysis of the price by square meter. Note, it is approx 90-95% project builders vs custom builders. Down to the data: average price: $940sqm $8714per square maximum: $1923sqm $17830per square minimum: $540sqm $5007per square Re: Size and cost 38Apr 29, 2007 12:40 pm pasey,
Thanks for taking the time to come up with the figures. Nice to see and fairly consistent with the figures on the previous page of this forum. Now that we know the general prices, all we need is to find a good designer and good builder. Cheers, Casa All sorted guys. Just needed to buy a blade with the correct bush. Dunno how to delete this post, can't find any help file. Cheers. 1 3790 Current door width is approx 2700, looking to have double doors fitted 820-820. What size does the frame need to be before door jamb? Thanks 0 3672 |
