It gives the best finish and saves problems in the long run. You will get a far better finish if the kickboards are scribbed to the floor rather than running the floor to them. If you to the floor after the kitchen you end up with a section behind the kickboards lower than the rest of the floor. Imagine what happens if you get a pipe burst or a leak. You have created a well behind the kickboard that the water sits in and is very hard to get out. FLOORS FIRST EVERYTIME. Anyone that says otherwise is trying to make life easy for them selves and doesnt care about the finished product!
