Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Westminster Homes 566Sep 06, 2011 8:23 pm Hi All, We were advised that our SS has resigned. He will be finsihing up this Friday. Anyone else in the same situation? Anyone had any work done in the last few weeks? We are still waiting for gyprock. Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Westminster Homes 567Sep 06, 2011 10:28 pm Looks like I'll have to my own SS'ing - and with a bit of guidance from those who really know what they're doing at WMH (hi ladies) I might even get the thing completed - should have done it this way from the start. Can't say I blame the guy, he only started with them several months ago and must have conscience, how many bummed out and angry people can you deal with before it all gets too much - unlike some others in the company I can't mention Re: Westminster Homes 568Sep 07, 2011 12:23 am Bel, just read through your blog from the start, it seems to have no more posts after Oct 7 2010, is that right? I am not that computer savy, maybe I missed it. How are you still sane! I do hope things work out for you & everybody else in the same boat. I think my thread on here may be more up to date How have you gone in your decision making? Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Westminster Homes 572Sep 21, 2011 6:38 pm feel for all westminster home people,we could have been in that boat also as we were going too build with them, lucky for us we jumped ship..... just seen it on chan 9...lets hope something comes outta it... Re: Westminster Homes 577Sep 21, 2011 8:30 pm Wow, what bite DoFT have - WMH must be pooping themselves - given the length of this saga for all of us and the number of complaints over the last year, they have finally, and only in response to media pressure, given WMH (ANOTHER) month to respond as to why they should not be disciplined....and what might that slap on the wrist be I wonder? Re: Westminster Homes 578Sep 21, 2011 8:37 pm Hmmm Tokon, I was wondering the same thing myself What will it be I wonder Re: Westminster Homes 579Sep 21, 2011 8:53 pm Yes, Token & Springtime It seems pretty tame but it is very bad publicity for them, potential clients, home lenders, tradies, suppliers will all get to hear about this. Not sure if that will help people wanting their builds finished but If their new work dries up they will not have much else on. Re: Westminster Homes 580Sep 21, 2011 8:55 pm Taken from DoFT website Quote: Grounds for disciplinary action The Director General can take disciplinary action against licensees and certificate of registration holders, and former licensees and certificate holders, who: - breach the Act or Regulation, including the Rules of Conduct – for example, failure to account for money held in trust, or failure to properly supervise employees - breach a licence or certificate condition - conduct business in an illegal, unfair or incompetent manner - become disqualified from holding a licence or certificate - cease to be suitable ‘fit and proper’ for the duties of licensee/certificate holder - fail to pay a required contribution to the Compensation Fund - fail to comply with an undertaking made to, or a directive made by the Director General - fail to pay a fine imposed by the Director General following disciplinary action - hold a licence or certificate that has been obtained f.raudulently or by mistake. Also, in a range of cases, including where a licence has been suspended or cancelled, or where a failure to account is suspected, the Director General may apply to the Supreme Court to appoint a receiver.
