Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Sep 06, 2011 7:46 pm Hey all, our designer is suggesting that we go a Marmoleum floor in our kitchen reno - a predominantly grey colour, with two or three stripes of highlight colour. We like the idea of the colourful, bold floor design, and I believe it will fit in with our colourful, bright kitchen, however can't get over the image of cheap vinyl and lino in old houses, and commercial buildings. Has anyone seen it used in a residential kitchen before? Any examples (other than the typical chequerboard examples I see on the web) that show it as a high quality option? Re: Marmoleum as a kitchen floor 2Sep 08, 2011 3:36 pm I have seen the new marmoleum a few times at trade shows & and it looks fantastic. Apparently it is starting to become popular as it's apparently eco-friendly, very hardy, soft underfoot and quite a good insulator. Surely the designer has some samples & pics to show you? Re: Marmoleum as a kitchen floor 3Sep 10, 2011 7:42 pm Thanks xquisite. Our designer has supplied samples of marmoleum, however at roughly 20x15cm, it is hard to imagine how it would look laid - ie the joins, and the large expanse of "solid" colour.
