Re: Dechellis custom build 10Aug 15, 2011 10:47 pm well, to be honest it wasn't our idea. We chose all our doors and I desperately wanted the cafe doors but it was out of budget. So the girl went off to price up what we did choose and came back with 2 quotes.... the second quote being for a taller door to give the illusion of a larger space. I loved the idea immediately of course! We're now trying to decide what to do with the other window in the family room.... we want that to be the same height, but don't know if we should bother taking that one to the floor too or just lift the window up so the sill is slightly higher. decisions decisions I must get some more pics up..... Wednesday night after I've cleaned my house for the following days inspection. I tell you, I can't wait to get out of this rental! Re: Dechellis custom build 12Aug 16, 2011 12:05 pm being so close, i would raise the window to the same height. probably wouldnt matter if it were to the floor or higher. depends how you have your furniture, if there is a view/garden out that side. dechellis are fond of having windows to the floors, i like it in living areas, but i cant believe they even do it in the bedrooms, we made ours smaller (waist height/normal height) i could really see the kids doing somersalts in their rooms or dancing, etc and going straight through the window! Re: Dechellis custom build 13Aug 18, 2011 3:21 pm another SA build to watch I should have put my glasses on before looking at your plan - at first I thought you had to climb over the loo to get to the bath before realising the bath was in the other room https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Dechellis custom build 14Aug 18, 2011 8:58 pm "at first I thought you had to climb over the loo to get to the bath before realising the bath was in the other room" Hahahaha!!!! I thought the same thing when I had a first quick glance! I've got my tile selections laid across the floor and I need some laundry and kitchen opinions. Let's see if I can get them on here before midnight! Re: Dechellis custom build 15Aug 18, 2011 9:07 pm So as promised, some of our selections so far..... The Exterior Roof - Woodland Grey Bricks - Caffe Latte (PGH) Mortar - Brighton Lite Render - Paperbark Gutters - Woodland Grey Fascia - Paperbark Roller door - Paperbark Windows - Merino Front Door - timber stain The front of the house has a raised portico, however there is not much going on visually. Just paving up the driveway to the front of the house. So we decided to change the render up a little and do a few brick features - the front will be rendered, but we're leaving the portico pillar and both pillars either side of the garage door un-rendered. Just to give it some lift. This is similar to our colour brick Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The front was easy to choose. We knew immediately what we wanted. The inside however....... Re: Dechellis custom build 16Aug 18, 2011 9:43 pm Love your selections Very similar to mine Remember to specify white sand, or you'll end up with orange brickies sand as standard and you won't get the benefit of the white Brighton Lite mortar !! Re: Dechellis custom build 17Aug 18, 2011 10:21 pm Thanks for the tip evelyng I've written it in my notes folder to mention at our final selections meeting - scheduled for 20th September. I had no idea about that, I thought it was white regardless. We've seen some display homes with the paler colour brown brick and the orange looking Brighton Lite mortar... my fiance thinks it looks like old scummy teeth Here's a picture of a similar look we are going for - except our roof is darker.... but also an indication of what I mean about the brick pillars. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ our portico and alfresco paver - charcoal grey with a gentle rough surface Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our outdoor colour selection Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Some of our internal selections.... photos are poor quality due to the terrible lighting in my living room ATM! If they turn out terrible, I'll take some decent daylight shots on the weekend We saw this ensuite in a display home and loved it.... so we decided to do something similar in our main bathroom. This is the ensuite we saw.... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And this is the tile we chose for our main bathroom (all our bathrooms are rectified). The three main walls of the main bathroom will be white tiles 300x600 horizontal lay, the floor and the bath hob and wall behind the bath (this wall will be our 'feature wall') will be the same tile. Also in this pic is the colour of our cupboards and bench top - we have a white round sink sitting raised above bench level. Flickmixer tap too! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Ooooh!! Re: Dechellis custom build 18Aug 19, 2011 8:27 am Looks great, love your selections! I was also going to say make sure you specify white sand if you want white mortar. Our bricks are being done atm with the white & I LOVE it!! The orange sand does suit a lot of bricks though so it depends on the look you are after, white does create more of a contrast. There is a thread by "RebeccaT" who is building in the Barossa, I'm pretty sure she used PGH "Cafe Late" with white mortar too & it looks really good, check it out. I really like your plans too, looking forward to watching your home go up! Its looks really good as a contrast against the paperbark. We also have the 600*300 tiles laid horizontally, they make the bathroom look much bigger ! Your bathroom selections look gorgeous, I really love the cupboard colour with the tiles. Is it Liquorice Linea ? We have that in our kitchen and I'm kicking myself we didn't choose it in the bathrooms as it would have made a great contrast to the beige tones. When we built it wasn't a standard colour (but not expensive to upgrade). The tap looks fantastic as well, nice choice ! Wow this is like building my own house all over again, only with the colours I now realise I wanted Re: Dechellis custom build 20Aug 19, 2011 9:16 am Loving your colour choices ... keep em coming!! I'm new to this forum and have made a mistake in my posting! I'm looking for a structural solution to a stand alone wooden pickets fence with no structural rail… 1 3287 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34266 6 55311 |
