This is the point the sawn joint will go over the top. Or, will they cut the wires in a straight line, or will it be a zig-zag job some 50mm off centre?? Re: Cutting the mesh in driveways 18Aug 24, 2011 11:21 pm There are three types of joints in concrete: Control Isolation Construction I think. Control joint is what we are talking about. Two ways saw cut or tooled. I tool because hmm I do. I never cut the steel, never needed. Not sure the saw cut would be deep enough to cut the steel, nor should it. Fill the cut with a sealant of sorts. But I guess if you cut steel it will reduce strength, but that must line up with the control joint. No I'm not a concretor, this is what I have done and or seen. To get an eng. involved to design the dwy?, or to ask the concretor to do some special joint type, perhaps an isolation joint which goes all the way through (and has abelflex or similar)?
