Surely there was someway somehow they could have made room for a bath and shower in the downstairs bathroom... Re: “The Block” 90Jul 30, 2011 4:47 pm Re: “The Block” 91Jul 30, 2011 10:13 pm The size of that kitchen will lose families as prospective buyers anyway. Re: “The Block” 92Jul 31, 2011 1:22 pm hmm - I think upstairs they could have used the window wall better. I think the toilet takes up the best space in the room. Maybe have the shower there.... also - does an esnuit need a bath? I think they have limited themselves with the separated bath/ensuite anyway. (not sure if they had to keep it this way for the show) but a more open plan room might have been better. And just have a small W/C with a door. Were they allowed to use the 'store'under the stairs as a toilet? I have a shower bath in my current house and stepping in and out of a tub is the pits! I wouldn't expect one in a higher end house market... Who has time to use baths these days anyway? The only time I use mine is for the kids and they are 3 +1. The 3 yr old would rather shower now anyway. I agree, we have a shower over bath it doesn't bother me, probably because I am so used to it and I do like the open space but we never use the bath as a bath Our kids were trained to have showers from an early age - it's a short period of time that a bath is useful Re: “The Block” 94Jul 31, 2011 3:27 pm sheznay ...does an esnuit need a bath? An ensuite needs a bath when there's no room in the other bathroom. Using the space under the stairs for the loo and having a bath was the girls' original plan, but there just wasn't enough room, so they had to shelve that idea. As for who has time to use a bath; I do. And my 15Yo son - he loves to fill the bath and lie in it. I swear I hear him playing with toys in there too... Re: “The Block” 95Jul 31, 2011 4:03 pm I finally got to watch a rerun of the dog kennel challenge. With a bit of luck will be able to watch the room reveal tonight! I know it's sad, but I only bath, don't ask me why, not for my whole life, I didn't have a bath for a year when I lived in Prahran, so I guess I can cope if i have to. Therefore shower over bath wouldn't worry me, but my DH !!! that's another story, he'd walk away from that purchase, or ask me to renovate and fix the problem. I actually think the girls could have used that dead space (where the trolley is now sitting) to make room for seperate shower/bath. I know it's tight, but I would have done this. We'll have to wait and see whether it actually turns buyers away, in Richmond it probably won't. (and like thoseriches said above about their kitchen minimising their buyers anyways). I think all things considered, the sisters are doing an amazing job, overall, I don't think it will matter. we'll know in a month! A thankful person is a happy person. Has this anyways been the case? Re: “The Block” 100Jul 31, 2011 8:42 pm Glad the girls won tonight. I'm also happy with who got the chump shirts. For anyone who went to the open house today - what did you think overall? Did seeing the houses in real life change your opinion of any of the couples or their work? Judie No, not yet. It’s currently being assessed by our building surveyor 4 7143 i did click it, still couldnt make it out rofl. in any case, doesnt look like too extreme a slope, you may be in luck. Just shoot out some emails to volume builders in… 3 20739 dimensions on your original plan are inconsistent and with accurate dimensions (including site plan, upstairs and down) i could make a proper scale drawing with furniture… 3 10005 |
