I'm not sure I want the fuss and cost of repainting the house and even if I did what colours would I go for? Our restrcitions state that the colours have to "natural" and compelement and blend with the landscape - so no all white house for me. My original plan was to paint the cladding a complimentary colour to the cedar garage door - maybe that was the wrong decision??? Any suggestions or comments would be welcome - to be honest I'm a bit lost on this one. Moonahgirl, I think your house is lovely. i LOVE the cedar look to the cladding! If it's too brown and you want more contrast, what about painting the render charcoal grey? I think this would look striking & it would 'anchor' the bottom of the house. Re: The Facade Thread!!! 92Jul 27, 2011 10:28 am I agree with the charcoal colour. It will blend well with the surroundings. Even colourbond woodland grey. Forrester 43sq We have our keys (3/6/11) Now it's time to decorate (that's the fun part.lol) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37598 Re: The Facade Thread!!! 93Jul 27, 2011 12:26 pm See that other pillar thing on the left next to the entrance door-I think all that including the entrance bit to the side should be painted one colour-a colour that will highlight the feature and provide more wow factor. There is nothing wrong with your facade. I used to hate our facade but it's growing on me-had we had our time again not sure how much I would change it. You really aren't limited to colours. I think the pillar would make a difference if that was painted a different colour from the rest of the house. Charcoal would be striking for the pillar and that entrance wall bit you can see in the photo. Any of these colurs towards the bottom of the colour chart would go well. You could have charcoals and greys that would look fabulous. http://www.porterspaints.com/world-of-c ... owns-greys http://www.google.com.au/imgres?q=earth ... 20&bih=988 Re: The Facade Thread!!! 94Jul 27, 2011 7:48 pm Thanks everyone - charcoal render seems to be favoured opinion. I'll look into that as an option. as I say we are not going to do anything immediately I'll see whether it grows on me first!! I have just thrown it together but it will give you an idea what a charcoal colour would like like. Thanks Nathan - that's great it helps to see a visual - it certainly takes some of the browness away think I'd probably prefer to go with a lighter grey though.
