Yes, I was hoping black tiles for the floor. I suppose a flat plain colour would accentuate those irregularities you mentioned. This is all too hard. I wonder when the next home show for ideas?? - and I have a black car too Just another point to consider, strong lighting i.e halogen downlighting onto shiny black surfaces be it granite tops, tiled floors etc is always going to be a problem.
