Re: Just found a metre what would you do? 12Jul 11, 2011 11:02 am City Fringe Due to the configuration of floor plan we have 2 options *Add the .5 to two of the bedrooms making 2 bedrooms 2.91 x 3.6 and leave the 3rd 2.91 x3.1 or *Add .3 in one .2 in another and .5 in another leaving 3 bedrooms - 2.91 x 3.3 , 2.91 x 3.4, 2.91 x 3.6 what do you think is best option? In my opinion it depends. If you have kids and all three bedrooms will be occupied permanently, then I would go with second option (making all bedrooms equal size). However if there are only two of you (or only 1 kid), and third bedroom will be occupied by occasional guests once a year, then we would go 1st option (making guest bedroom the smallest one) Re: Just found a metre what would you do? 13Jul 11, 2011 11:21 am City Fringe Thanks for the replies guys, I am driving my wife crazy with this stuff your opinions help greatly I was thinknig along the same lines about more space in the bedroom, side set backs are 1m either side so not much we can do about that and 5.5 back yard is bigger than what I thought we would end up with so all good!!! now just to throw another question out there ,we have 3 minor bedrooms as mentioned currently 2.91 x 3.1 Due to the configuration of floor plan we have 2 options *Add the .5 to two of the bedrooms making 2 bedrooms 2.91 x 3.6 and leave the 3rd 2.91 x3.1 or *Add .3 in one .2 in another and .5 in another leaving 3 bedrooms - 2.91 x 3.3 , 2.91 x 3.4, 2.91 x 3.6 what do you think is best option? Is it possible to go with a .3/,3/.4 split? I'd probably like the second option if it were me, but if you could go 2.91 x 3.4/2.91 x 3.4/2.91 x 3.5 and have the br's all pretty much the same size that would be nice. Edit: I agree with the post above - if you will only be using two of the bedrooms for children and the third bedroom will be a occasionally-used guest bedroom then having the two main bedrooms larger and the third (guest) bedroom smaller would be fine. NOt possible to do an even spilt as 2 bedrooms on one side off hallway 1 on the other. 2 kids at this stage maybe a 3rd down the track. I think we will go with option of adding .2 to one, .3 to another and .5 to one. Let's home the builder does not sting me too much cheers guys Re: Just found a metre what would you do? 15Jul 11, 2011 6:08 pm City Fringe Due to the configuration of floor plan we have 2 options *Add the .5 to two of the bedrooms making 2 bedrooms 2.91 x 3.6 and leave the 3rd 2.91 x3.1 or *Add .3 in one .2 in another and .5 in another leaving 3 bedrooms - 2.91 x 3.3 , 2.91 x 3.4, 2.91 x 3.6 what do you think is best option? Unless you will be using all 3 bedrooms, I would go with the first option and have the 3rd smaller bedroom as a study.
