Hi,
My husband has a friend here in China, who's company makes solar panels at $2 cost per panel. I certainly makes you wonder how much money all the middle men make. We'll try to take some back to Oz with us, otherwise it's DIY using components purchased from Bunnings, and youtube videos lol. I refuse to fork out thousands for something I know costs a couple of bucks!

Sorry, I simply don't believe this. The raw materials alone would swamp this cost. More likely they mean that the individual cells that make up a panel cost 2 bucks. So if you have 60 cells, the panel is gonna have a "cells only" cost of $120, add in the cost of losses, costs to mount, cost of frame and protective glass, costs to test etc etc etc...... then it starts to look closer to the real costs.
The biggest rip off merchants are at the end of the chain, the installers and the companies they work for.
