Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: Door hitting toilet - doorstop? 2Jun 30, 2011 3:51 pm One of our toilet doors misses the loo by that much and that upsets me, as it's hard to get in if you're a big person. I thought about having our door removed to make it an outward opening door. Re: Door hitting toilet - doorstop? 5Jun 30, 2011 4:32 pm Could you put a stopper in the floor, but put it closer to where the door is hinged to the frame? Then it won't be in the way when people are on the loo. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Problem 2 - We used the smaller version on the side of the bath so the shower screen door didn't bang onto it. Mclaren - not keen on the bumper option as we did this with the original toilet and door, it did the job but didn't like looking at it when on the loo...hehe May have to use the door stop on the floor but nearer the hinge in both places. Just hoping there was an innovative product out there that I didn't know about. Re: Door hitting toilet - doorstop? 9Nov 22, 2019 9:43 pm Patrick Could you take a photo please of what you used? I have the same problem Dont really want to drilll into the tiles as it might crack Sorry Patrick, we no longer live in the house I was referring to and I don't think I ever got a photo. I think I just used a 3M clear silicone stopper on the door (where it hit the toilet). Wasn't really obvious. We are now going to face the same issue as our new vanity has one big drawer (instead of cupboard style doors) and if the door is open, the vanity drawer hits the door. Re: Door hitting toilet - doorstop? 10Nov 23, 2019 7:07 am if you put the stopper on the floor nearer the hinge the leverage will rip the hinge off you could possible fit the stopper to the end of the door where it strikes the toilet the only sensible option is sliding door and just spend the money Re: Door hitting toilet - doorstop? 11Nov 23, 2019 11:08 am We had a shower door once that hit a sink when fully opened. I just bought a car door plastic edge thingo - from one of those car parts places (for car doors - come in various colours) - stuck it on the shower screen door. Problem solved - price under $5.
