The colour is Natural, New England Blackbutt. Not great pics but might help someone looking for something similar. Re: Evolution Laminate Floor - Proline 11Jun 30, 2011 7:30 am Thanks TMac. The floor looks great. I'm sold. We saw it in the Showroom against the real timber floors and couldn't tell the difference. Thanks for posting the photos'. I'm sure we're going to be really happy with it. We're going to do our whole downstairs area in it and remove our horrible, hard to keep clean tiles. Thanks again. Re: Evolution Laminate Floor - Proline 12Jun 30, 2011 10:55 am We have had the Embellton 12mm laminate in our house for 4 months now and I have to say its great. Our intitial concern was will it look fake and sound hollow, we were not sure whether to go gloss or matt finish and I ended up going with the matt, as I read too many people complaining about the gloss scratching and showing up every bit of dust and I did not want to be constantly cleaning the floor. The sound we were concerned about hasnt happened either, once you put furniture in it sounds quite good under foot, the only rooms you get the hollow clicking sound is the rooms with little furniture and big rooms. I have dragged that much furniture and boxes all over the house as its easier than carrying and I have not found one scratch on the floor. Many people have come around to see the new house etc and no-one would know it's a laminate floor and not timber, they are quite shocked when we tell them it's laminate. We had our laminate flooring laid over the top of our tiles and it worked fine, flooring company only had to plane a small bit off the bottom of a door. As long as your tiles are flat and even you should be fine. We chose QuickStep Light varnished oak, very happy with it after almost 12 months. Re: Evolution Laminate Floor - Proline 15Jul 08, 2011 1:35 pm wow - looks great!! If anyone installs the spotted gum can u please post pics. [i][b]Krissy & Dave Re: Evolution Laminate Floor - Proline 16Jul 09, 2011 4:29 pm rosewood I laid my laminate over tiles also. I used armstrong forest select xl in sydney blue gum. Rosewood, I would be really interested to know how you are finding the Forest Select Xl. We are considering that too. Are you happy with the look/feel/durability? Also, having trouble deciding between the sydney blue gum and brushbox colours. Finding it hard to decide just from little sample boards. Does anyone know any shops with a really good range and display of laminates in Melbourne? Re: Evolution Laminate Floor - Proline 17Jul 11, 2011 2:33 pm We pulled our old tiles up before having the floor laid. The floor seller said we could lay over the tiles but they recommended removing them if possible. We also had a few small rooms of carpet to pull up and lay the floor over so it would have been very uneven if we didn't. We extended and renovated the house and I have to say the tile removal was the worst (and dirtiest) part of it all BUT in the end we were glad we did it because it looks great. If we hadn't removed the tiles we would have had a few high spots near the entries to the toilet, bathroom, laundry and out the back sliding door but now they are nice and flat. Here are a couple more pics - still doesn't do the floor justice though. Re: Evolution Laminate Floor - Proline 18Mar 24, 2017 4:03 pm We had these installed 1 month ago the spotted gum shiny finish. We went with it because apparently the aquashield is highly water resistant and IC3 rating is scratch resistant. Its not so. After 1 month, we have chips on the floor in 4 places and I know that nothing was dropped or scratched as we are super paranoid about it, you know how you get with new floors and yet I keep finding chips and they come up white, so it looks like dirt. Then I noticed bubbling of the seam just now! and that made me really upset! Its not in a place where there would be water like kitchen, so it would have to have been a little drop of something and its bubbling. Its in a spot where I can see reflection from a window as I am on a mezzanine level in our home and so every time I walk past it, I see the bubble! The window does not open there, so it could not have been rain damage or anything.... So after 1 month, I wish I went with a Bunnings product. I put in cheap bunnings floors 8 years ago in an investment and they have had water on them from an open window and there is a tiny bit of wear but after 8 years, they look amazing. No chips and no bubbling. So don't waste your money. These are not water resistant or scratch resistant. They do look great when you put them in, but if its going to bubble like it has in the first month we've had them and we've been super careful, its going to look shocking after a few years! I am highly disappointed! Re: Evolution Laminate Floor - Proline 19Dec 10, 2019 6:11 pm Mikapi Hi All, Has anyone had the Evolution laminate floor by Proline installed at their place? We are looking at the 12mm dark spotted gum and wanted to know it's durability and look? It has a gloss finish and we are concerned that the laminate may scratch. Also, at $65 a sq metre, it is slightly more expensive than other 12mm laminate boards. Regards MikApi I hope you didn't buy it as I did only a few months ago and its a nightmare to keep clean. This photo shows 1 day of not cleaning. I have cleaned half the floor before photo taken.
