Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering Re: Carpet Laying Issues - Please Help! 5Jun 29, 2011 9:44 am xquisite If the carpet is removed, new smooth edge installed in the proper place and then recarpeted, is it likely this will fix the problem? No. The skirting is still too high for the carpet. And getting the carpet and gripper out is a problem xquisite maybe i need slightly thicker underlay(?) The carpet gripper is still the same height at the wall. The underlay finishes at the gripper. Thicker underlay will just dip down to the gripper at the wall. xquisite Otherwise i don't see how it can be rectified without ripping all the skirtings off - which will be a big job to repaint etc. This may be your only option. Unless the builder can come up with an idea of filling the gaps. [not silicone, please] Mark Re: Carpet Laying Issues - Please Help! 6Jun 30, 2011 10:59 am Thanks, Mark. However, it won't solve the issue of not being able to change carpet in the future.
