The roof!! 164Jun 23, 2011 9:49 am Beautiful roof , really makes it start to look like a house !! Re: Building the Monaco - Fairmont Homes - Bricks Imminent 165Jun 26, 2011 11:19 am ness'n'troy Roof is looking good! Love the colour! I wish this rain would just GO AWAY!! Doesnt mother nature understand we are trying to build houses here!!! Haha! I think she got the message ness, looks like the weather will be good this week Great for bricking... Went past the house yesterday and there was a bit of preparation going on for the bricking. Looks like they’re going to do this bricks this week. I’m very excited!!! One thing I’m a bit concerned about at the moment is the position of a downpipe. We had brought this up with the builder in the final interview. They didn’t want to know about it. We asked them to move a downpipe from the right side of bedroom 4 to the rear of bedroom 4 so it wouldn’t be in the way of our future pergola. They didn’t and now I’m wondering, will we still be able to attach the pergola where the downpipe is in future??? Or will we have to move it ourselves? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also, we had added an extra external tap just outside the meals area. The plumbing hasn't been done for it and they're about to do the bricking. They did the plumbing for the outside tap at the front of the house so I would've thought they would do them all at once. Is that right?? Will have to follow up with the builder this week to make sure they haven't forgotten about it. Re: Building the Monaco - Fairmont Homes - Bricks Imminent 166Jun 26, 2011 6:38 pm Looking absoloutely fantastic Theresa - definately brick weather on the way I would follow up with builder re the extra tap, i think its best to address these things as they arise. I so cannot wait to see your brick pics. Re: Building the Monaco - Fairmont Homes - Bricks Imminent 167Jun 27, 2011 11:38 am Thanks Drayto Your house is looking fab too DH called the SS regarding the missing tap. First time he'd spoken to him. He said he seemed really nice. He's going to chase it up with the plumber. SS also told DH that the brickies probably wouldn't arrive today as they're finishing off another house nearby. A bit disappointing but good to know as it saves me a trip past the house this afternoon. Re: Building the Monaco - Fairmont Homes - Bricks Imminent 168Jun 27, 2011 11:39 am I agree with Drayto - follow up the tap ASAP. They probably have forgotten it! ------------------------------------------------------ Handover: 14 December 2010 Current: Putting in plants! We have frames but have a few hiccups so not going as quickly as I wouldve liked. Loving how big your meals/living looks. Re: Building the Monaco - Fairmont Homes - Bricks Imminent 172Jun 30, 2011 8:54 pm I love your plan!! We are just about to start our bricks too, but they have already finished the gyprock. They like to do things backwards lol. Re: Building the Monaco - Fairmont Homes - Bricks Imminent 173Jul 03, 2011 10:36 am Great progress since I was last here. Surfmist roof seems very popular and possibly the colour we will get too. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Building the Monaco - Fairmont Homes - Bricks Imminent 174Jul 03, 2011 10:44 am looking good , hurry up brickies !!!!!!! Re: Building the Monaco - Fairmont Homes - Bricks Imminent 175Jul 03, 2011 5:11 pm Yey windows! C'mon bricks - the patience is wearing a little thin now. Hopefully the rain doesnt slow things down for you Theresa. Re: Building the Monaco - Fairmont Homes - Bricks 176Jul 07, 2011 2:36 pm Thanks everyone for your kind words. I agree Drayto, my patience was wearing a little thin too with no brickies on site! They finally arrived Monday. As of yesterday, part of the garage had been bricked. The bricking seems to be going very slow... The weather isn't helping... They're back there today and have since completed the garage. Here's a few pics from yesterday... But worth the wait - looking fantastic Theresa, i really like your bricks. Hopefully the water feature only lasts while they are bricking down that side - dont think the neighbors would be impressed if it stayed too long Re: Building the Monaco - Fairmont Homes - Bricks 180Jul 09, 2011 2:59 pm Thanks Drayto and BuildingSA laura2009 Exciting to see bricks going up. (Our bricking took a full month!) That downpipe is hillarious. Geez laura, that would've felt like ages! I hope it doesn't take that long. Visited the house yesterday and caught a couple having a wander through. Turns out they’ve recently built a home with Weeks Peacock nearby. They loved the area so much that they knocked down a home they’d originally built themselves in the 1960s and extended in the 1970s. I just can’t imagine knocking down the home I’m building! They were very happy to recommend trades they’d used for their build so it was very handy meeting them. No sign of brickies anywhere yesterday though They bricked part of the main bedroom a couple of days ago… and decided to install a new water feature for my other neighbour Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Side of main bedroom. Not sure why there's no bricking being done adjacent the tap There's no window there. The electricity box is on the other side of the house and we're not having two! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Chip on the bricks inside the garage. I'm loving my brick colour but chips are disappointing. DH wants it fixed but I don't want to be difficult. I'd try to avoid a painted brick if I ever built again.
