I think it had something to do with the voltage or something - I think US have lower than Australia. Can of Coke and a choccy bar for you, ourdiydream Domestic lighting in North America is 110-120 volts, we're 230 volts. Re: Buying US lights off the net 10Jun 19, 2011 4:30 pm I'll have to give this idea a miss. I asked the builder what the standards are and in turn he asked their sparky who said he would not install them if they didn't have an Australian standards stamp. I've chased up three suppliers off the web so far: 1. Ebay.com.au vendor will ship to Australia - no response to my emails 2. US retailer who ships internationally - Nice people but no help, a bit too hard for them 3. US retailer who ships internationally - no response. Have you tried European websites? Their standard is 230 v. I looked at 1 UK website and they were 50% dearer than here. Even with the European fitting my electician maybe a bit iffy. Anyway I've gone ahead and ordered locally. ust have to wait 3 months now. The E27 thread for the Edison Screw lampholder is the same, it may not be rated for 230 volts though and will have to be replaced. So I'm just reading up on this ecosystem of lights. I'm planning on putting deck lights along the outside edge of a large deck. Will need about 3 packs (18 lights) plus… 0 23021 Yeah I don't know why I came to a forum. Place is full of wierdos/pedos thought internet may help but I suppose I'll try my luck with someone in person. Cheers. I tried… 0 6442 I couldn't attached the photo for some reason.
