We have availed of their 3k deposit promo and have just signed the building contract. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks! Re: Homebuyers Centre - Melbourne 23Jun 13, 2011 8:32 pm kkurni Hi Ring, I want to build with HBC for Retreat 25 design. How much price in total you have to pay ? How about the quality and warranty ? do you have some photos ? Thanks for sharing Hi KKurni, Check out my build thread, I dont know how to add it here but if you do a search by author and put my name in it should find my build thread. I sure most of your questions will be answered. We have not done our maintenance yet will be doing that in the next few months. It will be great if you can share this. Thanks Re: Homebuyers Centre - Melbourne 25Nov 01, 2012 10:03 am Hi All, I am thinking about building the Espirt 20 (Currently on Promotion) in Melbourne. Could anyone shed some light regarding the building process with Homebuyers Centre (particularly in Victoria)? Was it fairly smooth or? How 'fixed' are site costs? The PWC seems to exclude this from the fixed costs when rock is encountered and needed to be removed. An allowance will need to be added for this? - does this get estimated for the contract stage i.e. after soil tests are done? Thanks, Purpleflavour Hi Purpleflavour We built with Homebuyers/Boutique we did not have fixed site costs when we built - in our case n allowance is made when you get to contract stage, and of course if you hit rock they use this amount to cover it, however we did not use all of our allowance and received a credit at the end, but of course if we had of hit a lot of rock then we would have had to pay more. Our build went really smoothly and we built during the busy period, build finished in 5 months. Its a bit of a process to get to build stage with all the admin required and approvals needed, but depends it your in a building guideline estate etc. land settlment etc. Good luck with the build. I have to say that, your build, the finishes and your experience all hinges on your SS and the contracted framers, plasterers, brickers etc. We had our private inspector inspect 3 stages of our build and he said that it was one of the better houses. We have had a relatively smooth admin and build trip with Boutique. Now we are going to see what the next phase is like, list of defects and how they will fix this. As for site costs, we had I think 6k budgeted for site cost but did not encounter rocks, so this was credited back to us in the end. If you click on my blog, you will see photos of the build and our general experience. Again, I think customers satisfaction is going to vary quite a bit from own expectations to the people you are dealing with.
