Mine's right up the top above the glasses. that would be much better, miele have the best products, we got a new washing machine yesterday ours broke down, so we picked the miele, I hope I am spelling it right in our new house I havn't seen the dishwasher yet, I hope the cutlery basket is not in the same spot as the one at the rental. Re: Cutlery tray in dishwasher or not 6Jun 06, 2011 8:57 pm I agree with the benefits that donuts said. . .I have a Bosch & love the cutlery drawer, another benefit is you don't have to bend down to fill/empty the cutlery basket. Loretta yes that's what I really hate about it, having to bend down and get the cutlery into the holes. deb17 donuts I agree deb17 I wouldn't like it there either. Re: Cutlery tray in dishwasher or not 8Jun 06, 2011 9:45 pm can I just ask to those who have the cutlery trays, doesn't it take longer to put them in one by one in the tray, rather than drop a bunch in one go into the basket?? I'm assuming not by the sound of your posts! ?? A thankful person is a happy person. I'm assuming not by the sound of your posts! ?? we have the basket, not the tray, but with the lids with the holes for each individual piece of cutlery, you can take the lids off, but then all of the cutlery will be on standing next to other cutlery and sometimes they don't clean properly if not done individually. I'm assuming not by the sound of your posts! ?? That's what I am wondering too Annie! My friend that has a Miele with the cutlery draw said she laughs when she thinks of me doing it cos she knows I'd crack it and just throw them in! I'm not very patient. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Cutlery tray in dishwasher or not 11Jun 06, 2011 9:56 pm Annietom... I had a Miele with top cutlery drawer in our last rental. I might be the only person with an aversion to the cutlery tray judging from posts so far. Yes, it takes longer to load the cutlery all in. It used to do my head in!!!!! Give me a basket any day. Re: Cutlery tray in dishwasher or not 12Jun 07, 2011 1:50 pm I don't have a problem with it but i guess it might take longer. I place the same cutlery together (haven't trained DH to do this yet!) so it is easy to unpack & no bending down to do it Loretta Built The Jenmark with Cavalier Homes Macarthur. http://camdenacres.blogspot.com/ Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17870 We are in - front landscaping begins Re: Cutlery tray in dishwasher or not 13Jun 07, 2011 3:15 pm I have the Bosch with the cutlery drawer. It's all about trade offs really. More space down below but less height overall to cater for the tray. I run my top rack (main one not the cutlery drawer) on an angle. That way my dinner plates fit on one side of the bottom rack and on the top rack I can fit some of my taller plastics jugs. Also my bowls wouldn't fit without it being angled as the cutlery drawer angles in to the centre. I have the standard Maxwell and Williams plates (wouldnt say they are overly big) and they take up a lot of the height inside the bottom rack. It takes slightly longer to load but quick to unload. Hth Re: Cutlery tray in dishwasher or not 14Jun 08, 2011 12:58 am i have a bosch with the top cutlery drawer and prefer it over a basket. I can't be bothered to load it in order, and just scoop it up and sort it into the cuttlery drawer in handfuls, does not take long to do at all. my plates and bowls fit down the bottom, cups and glasses in the 'middle' drawer, and mixing bowls and saucepans wherever there is room. I have deliberatley chosen stemless wine glasses and not really tall glasses for day to day so they fit.. but I can also move my 'middle' tray down if needed so they would (but of course this would leave less room below for chopping boards.. plates would still fit!) Hope that helps! Hth X2 Yes it does take longer if you are fussy enough otherwise you can be like my wife & just chuck everything in there & not give a rats.... (S***s me to tears!) As a result she is banned from stacking the dishwasher. But as mentioned if you stack everything together then unloading is a breeze. Troy. Good to hear of a female using the same tactic my husband does to get out of doing the laundry! LOL! Our washing machine is a Bosch, not a miele as I quoted above omi, this building a house, makes you lose your mind. Re: Cutlery tray in dishwasher or not 18Jun 25, 2011 10:38 am I don't have a cutlery tray (yet...) but it annoys me having the baskets because my cutlery isn't skinny ended so has to go into the baskets grouped together and not individually sectioned- which isn't good for the cutlery and they don't always come out sparkling but instead have water spots where they've been touching.
