Re: Porter Davis homes 2008May 31, 2011 9:47 pm humble Thanks Rups, you have given me the rough price for the mixers! excellent. upgrading basin and mixer was only $127. shower mixer upgrade is $182 sonata hand held shower rose was only $65 price door handles is $5.5o each Re: Porter Davis homes 2009Jun 01, 2011 9:05 am joles +1 to what Rups said! humble Our front doors cost around $1500. But we only had one door as standard, so that cost includes changing the entry way to have two doors, upgrading the height of the doors to 2340mm, and then upgrading the doors to INF4G, which are the wooden ones with 4 big glass panels. Really Nice !!!! Great idea Joles...... I've always liked the look of double doors for a front entrance. Never crossed my mind to modify the home to accomodate them..... Least we have all the electrical costs now, so I can work that out seperately. Already we have decided to accept the standard laminate bolero flooring that comes with the 2k flooring deal currently being offered, as we all know 2k wont even cover the carpet if we went and did it ourselves let alone the tiles to the wet areas. The theory is if the laminate is average we will rip it up later. It will do for now. Bricks are the biggy, not really wanting to move on the hawthorns. The rest is door handles/front doors and mixer taps, so we should be ok. I hope. Humble, I'm currently at work but if you can give me a day or so I can give you a list of all our upgrades. We are currently still building so prices should be up-to-date. It wasn't too involved actually, deleting sidelights, etc. I think the actual width was there... just. They do take up the whole space though. But I have moved far too many times and yelled out far too many naughty words while trying to get furniture in and out of the front door to not have doubles. Double front doors and wide hallways were pretty high on our list of must haves, we swap furniture around a lot and the extra width is great. If I ever built again, I'd seriously consider increasing internal door width beyond 920mm as well. Every piece of bedroom furniture seems to only just fit through the doorway. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Porter Davis homes 2013Jun 01, 2011 10:51 am humble That would be great, thanks for offering chorlton Humble, PS. Also directing these pricing concerns to your Building Coordinator is best, they are there to assist you with any questions or queries you may have, I can assure you that we are here to make the building process easier for you. Please let me know how your tender appointment goes. Cheers Ebony Thanks Ebony, I am sure you can appreciate, that the details being presented on this forum are very very informative. I dont have a pricing concern *yet* but I a suspected feeling I will have quite soon. Bit of advice for PD however, please draw up a price list, it would have saved me (and I am sure others) from a lot of bother. Its a sad state of affairs when I need to ring suppliers to get indicative pricing, and even more frustrating when you know that wont be the price PD will offer you. If the pricebook was available then I wouldnt have even bothered to ring the suppliers. Hi Humble, I thank you for your feedback, please know I have passed on your advice regarding a price book or list. We really welcome and appreciate all comments and feedback given on the forum, it helps us to get an understanding of what our clients are looking for and what would help them during the build process. I hope your tender appointment goes well. Cheers Ebony Porter Davis Homes Questions? Anyway I'm happy as we will be getting a new house in the near future. I am hoping to have an independent inspection for pre-handover with NHI. Last time when I did the inspection with NHI for pre-plaster, I received the defect report in 2 days time. If the inspection carry out on the day of PCI, I would not be able to pass the defect list to the SS on the day of PCI. Would it be better to carry out the independent inspection on the day of PCI or at least 2 days prior to the PCI. Any thoughts would highly appreciate... Some of the defects we picked up at PCI have still not been rectified - though they were not major ones. Humble, the carpet and cabinet colours you chose are exactly the same as the ones we chose. Have a look at my blog for pics to see how it actually looks. To me, and from the feedback I have from visitors, I think it is awesome!! That said, we do have tiles not laminate floors. And btw, did I mention that I think you have excellent taste?? After the Fix stage completion it has been taken 3 months to the PCI which has been schedule in the 3rd week of June. As it has been delaying & nothing much has done during the last couple of weeks we have been requesting for a date for the PCI. Could you please let me know the reason for delaying the PCI? karmaz Roshi, I think delay PCI too.
