Browse Forums Building A New House Our nest - any help/suggestions highly appreciated! 70May 30, 2011 10:47 pm ![]() Alsv we wont have both shower and bathtub, just a bathtub (due to budget constraint/space saving/crisis) I would not buy a house that had only a bathtub in the ensuite with no shower!! Why not do a luxurious double shower in the ensuite (no bath) and leave the bathtub to the main bathroom only? Re: Our nest - any help/suggestions highly appreciated! 71May 30, 2011 10:51 pm Agree, I would not buy a house that did not have a shower in the ensuite either, however Fekish if this is your forever home and you have baths instead of showers then maybe I can understand your thinking, but for resale you would have to have a shower. ![]() Re: Our nest - any help/suggestions highly appreciated! 72May 30, 2011 11:44 pm ok thanks ![]() Well, hopefully this is our "forever" home... I wanted shower (but i am not so mad about it), wife wants bathtub as she likes laying in there when she has sometime. Thus the solution was to put a bathtub... Just to understand in general, the master bathroom is thought to be smaller than the other bathroom? I always thought that there isn't a master bathroom, just one bathroom for parents and one for kids... And considering the fact that parents would stay longer in there, then is more logical for the bathroom in the master to be a bit more to your needs. Re: Our nest - any help/suggestions highly appreciated! 73May 31, 2011 8:25 am ![]() thanks for the answers! So i'll reply to the important note and then come back for the rest: Who is going to italy? Is by far my favourite country, although this year i'll go to spain to create some competition!! Ohh mike Spain is beautiful, I went in April last year then was in Rome in November and I have to say Spain is my favourite ![]() I was going to go to Barcelona again this trip but changed my mind and am going to Prague instead, I do believe that Prague could potentially be my next favourite ![]() Re: Our nest - any help/suggestions highly appreciated! 74May 31, 2011 9:19 am yes, that is what I meant (blah blha blah, spain, italy, rome, blah blha) if the wife likes a bath and you like a shower...have both. I would. tell her to sell some clothes, and have a smaller wir, and a large spacious ensuite. we had a shower over the bath the last 4 yrs............. hated it. only cos you have to clamber over the bath edge to get in, and then it is skinny...as it isnt as wide as a normal shower (if you dont have a huge bath that is) etc etc I could go on, but wont bore you. I would try and get a sep shower and a sep bath, but if you cant cos of $$$ and a bath with shower over suits you and you are there for 20 yrs, then go for it. and yes, you have a master bathroom (or ensuite) and a family bathroom. the master is for the parents. the main bathroom for guests and kids. good luck! Re: Our nest - any help/suggestions highly appreciated! 75May 31, 2011 2:42 pm italy: amazing history and roads to walk on! It was like a huge open museum! Especially in Rome in every corner you are amazed. In Tuscany you feel freedom and relaxation, and Venice is something like a totally different culture! ![]() I went to Prague 2 years ago, however it was xmas and it was a bit different (markets everywhere). However is a wonderful city with wonderful little roads to walk on. But i wouldnt spend more than 4 days in just Prague. Re: Our nest - any help/suggestions highly appreciated! 76May 06, 2012 4:22 pm Hello everyone, after a looooong time waiting for approvals we are nearly towards the end of this part! ![]() We went to 4-5 kitchen stores, and they all seem to be a bit skeptical about our current kitchen design. They are saying (and they are all right) that might not be so good for the couches layout, as the island bench's corner would always interfer with the layout of the kitchen sitting area. This is the current layout. The island was initially 4m, however we have taken it down to 3.5m in order to be less in the middle of the way. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ What we are thinking of doing, is the below. I think we would definitely be able to utilise better all space with this layout, however i dont know how good would be a kitchen bench without the cupboards behind you... By the way - my mrs. likes linear kithcen that is why we are not doing any corners in the kitchen... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Of course the ultimate thing to do if we are not happy at all in the end, is to increase teh size of the kitchen room by 50cm or 1m out, in order to keep original layout... On the top side there is a road, that is why we do not want a lot of windows there... Left side: is the barbecue area and outdoor patio, that is why we want these windows, in order to connect both spaces. Bottom side, would be garden and views, thus definitely we do not want to block that... Any help and suggestions would be highly appreciated! ![]() Re: Our nest - any help/suggestions highly appreciated! 77May 30, 2012 5:54 am We got the offers from 5 builders, and oh my god so confusing! So many things to consider! Shall we chose the cheapest one? How should we bargain? Should we trust 100% the opinion of the architect? Etc etc etc! Let the games begin! ![]() Re: Our nest - just got offers from builders 78May 30, 2012 10:38 am Your garage is small. If you only intend to use it for cars then that about all you have the room for. Once you put a 4x4 in there is not much room for the second car. I have always kept garage 6m internal, 5500 is something you see with those volume builder House and land pakcages. just my 2cents. House looks amazing though. Re: Our nest - just got offers from builders 80Mar 25, 2013 6:12 am i can't beleive our luck... We are on the verge of stopping the building because of crisis in our country's banks..
