Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 May 30, 2011 3:01 pm Hi, We're contemplating whether to get solar heating for our pool or not. We are getting solar heating provisions just to be on the safe side...so if we decide to get solar down the track we won't have to dig up our pavers. So I've been doing a bit of research and am also looking at a product called Evoheat. It's an environmentally friendly pool heater and transforms oxygen into heat. I'm just in the process of getting a quote so would be great to hear any feedback on this product. Secondly, we've heard pool blankets keep a lot of heat in pools. The only thing is we have limited space plus don't like the look of rollers next to the pool. However, we have seen you can get automated pool cover systems. We have contacted sunbather (www.sunbather.com.au) and remco (www.remco.com.au) for more information on their automated covers. Has anyone seen or used an automated pool cover? Are there any other suppliers who have these? Thanks! Agent 009 Re: Pool Heating 2May 30, 2011 3:23 pm Ok, just got a few quotes for the automated pool covers and they're around the $15,000 mark!!! Waaaaay out of our budget Now looking at thermal covers...sunbather have a stainless steel roller which looks quite small and not very bulky. Re: Pool Heating 3May 30, 2011 7:51 pm It also depends on the shape of your pool. If you have a simple rectangular pool, it is easy to do an automated cover (and I probably would), but if you have any shape that deviates from that, it's not only more difficult, but practically impossible to use.
