Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Knockdown and building Henley's Talise Q2 70May 29, 2011 3:54 pm Hey We drove down to the block today to see what had been done this week. They have started "cutting and filling" so its all looking great. Nothing else to share at this stage. Had a query though..... we are having bamboo flooring throughout the house except for bedrooms as they will be carpet. i am trying to decide whether or not to put bamboo flooring into the home office or leave it as carpet like the other rooms. its a tough one. I can imagine the office having bamboo floor with a beautiful plush rug. Any suggestions??????? Trudy Knockdown and building Henley's Talise Q2 72Jun 01, 2011 7:38 pm Trudy, A problem I have previously encountered is the study chair (on coasters) marking a wooden floor. With carpet these chairs wear through the carpet. So I would recommend a bamboo floor with a mat/rug for the chair. Chatz Re: Knockdown and building Henley's Talise Q2 73Jun 03, 2011 7:06 pm Chatz! I am SO excited you guys have started too!!!!!! I feel your excitement Hubby and I went down to the block today and met our supervisor. He's a nice guy. He was putting up the Henley sign as we walked up He said they would have poured the slab by now if it weren't for all the rain - our block was pretty muddy when we were and pockets of land were flooded. And thanks for the advice about the bamboo in the study i think this is what we will do Trudy Re: Knockdown and building Henley's Talise Q2 74Jun 03, 2011 7:06 pm Chatz! A little warning would have been appreciated, especially as our neighbour has a 3YO and they are concerned about her getting through the fence. Chatz Re: Knockdown and building Henley's Talise Q2 79Jun 14, 2011 6:37 pm Hi Chatz, Seems like yesterday our block was at the same stage!!!, now it all just comes out the ground.. sit back and enjoy. If its anything like our progress, you'll see a difference every day, and that is very satisfying. Its kinda like going on a long haul flight, when your on the plane you think "ah well if i've forgotten anything now.. bad luck" Good luck Ger Ger multiple occ properties are always billed by trades at a premium, rarely per sqm for the lot.
