If not, are there others in your estate that have the same problem? The estate is brand new & there are only 1 or 2 houses with occupants in them (one of which is behind us but they didn't hear anything). We have a house next door but it's also currently being built. The house looks out over a lake & parkland & it's always really busy in the evenings with people going for walks & mums taking their kids to the playground further down the road. But at night, there's virtually no one there, so it'd be very easy for someone to steal something. But most of the houses don't seem to have had much damage (except for the one round the corner that had $10k of damage done in one night) - it's as if our house is being targetted (either someone *really* doesn't like us or we have exceptionally good taste & someone really covets our belongings!). Sigh. Having said that, some people are pretty brazen. Our neighbours-to-be said they had a pallet of bricks stolen within an hour...the tradies (or someone...can't remember who) left at a particular time, they (the neighbours) returned an hour later & the bricks were gone! In broad daylight! She's really annoyed because that was going to be their BBQ. Re: Five minutes alone with them...that's all I want 20Apr 12, 2007 1:20 pm We had our walkthrough today.
Essentially, the damage is so extensive that they're now weighing up whether it's cheaper to just reglaze or to actually replace all the windows (& it sounds like replacing all the windows is going to be cheaper!). The front windows will take a while to be done because they're double glazed & they might have to wait till after we've moved in. But the windows at the back (which are a combo of normal glass & laminated saftey glass) should be done next week...so we will only be delayed by a day or two. Which isn't too bad (the carpet & wooden floors can all go in on time as they won't interefere witht he windows...we just might need to change the actual moving-in date). Tha garage door panel is going to take 4 weeks to get replaced. At least our problems are easy to repair. Next door thought they'd remained unscathed. Turns out they'd got a visit as well - someone has poured concrete down all their sewer pipes (drains, toilets, etc). Which is going to be very costly & time-consuming to repair. And a house down the road got hit as well - the culprits shimmied up the drainpipes & got in through an upstairs window...then proceeded to splatter concrete all over their walls. Sorry! I'm new to this forum and have made a mistake in my posting! I'm looking for a structural solution to a stand alone wooden pickets fence with no structural rail… 1 3287 I would be wary. Is you site demilished but nothing else done? Sounds like liquidity problems to me. Our builder did the same. Got hundreds of thousands of dollars of… 2 15390 Sounds like rubbish to me. Ask for the contamination report which I doubt they have. If it's part of a normal subdivision it would have had a contamination report done… 9 5641 |
