And what are you going to put in that beautiful expanse of mulch ? Do the hard jobs first. The easy jobs will take care of themselves. - Dale Carnegie Re: Front Yard 11Jun 17, 2008 3:38 pm Of course it's meant to be crooked. No just kidding...I've got to get a stick to hold it up till it gets strong enough.
I will be getting some large rocks to place in between the plants and also I want some stepping stones from the stairs to the curb for visitors and to the letterbox. I was thinking a sandstone but a rough sawn one not a square one. It is rural so the large rocks will fit into the environment I hope. Re: Front Yard 12Jun 17, 2008 6:40 pm Such fun when you have large spaces to play with. So hard when it all starts to fill up... Best part for me is that brief period with a half-established garden when there's still a few prime spaces left to fill Do the hard jobs first. Tam that looks a gazillion times better than when I saw it last! Congratulations.... The (fake) grass ... where from? How much? Does it look good IRL? Re: Front Yard 14Jun 18, 2008 8:39 am Thanks Matt,
The grass is from a local guy. I was quoted by three locals ranging from $95sq down to $65 sq. The main difference is the height in blade length. I have seen melbourne guys advertising for $65sq as there is much more competition now. It stuck out like anything at first when we had no plants or mulch around it, but once you add the rest of the garden it blends in nicely. Only thing is it goes right up to the tree that is crooked so I'm a bit worried about putting in the stick and damaging the root sytem.
