Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Spray painting and masking 2May 13, 2011 9:25 am Are you spray painting yourself? If so, I would advise there is a real skill to spray painting, to get a good finish you need an experienced touch. Overspray will go EVERYWHERE no matter how skilled the operator. If you are using a different ceiling color to walls, do ceiling first then you will need someone to hold large sheets of cardboard to protect the ceiling while you do the walls. Anything you do not protect will end up with very fine paint mist on it so masking and sheilding is essential. Despite that, if you know what you are doing, you should only need one coat and you can spray the entire interior of most places in a day or so and the time saving can make the extra work well worth it.
