Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 04, 2011 9:55 pm Went past our build this afternoon to see that the brickies had been really busy doing some beautiful brick work. Unfortunately about one third of the area they did today is supposed to be cladding (a choice we made to take away from the volume of bricks). Anyone had a similar experience? They have to fix it, don't they? Re: Nice bricks, shame about the location 3May 05, 2011 12:27 am Could the cladding maybe be going over the bricks? Re: Nice bricks, shame about the location 4May 05, 2011 8:40 am I doubt the cladding is going over the bricks if they chose cladding to reduce the volume of bricks. Definitely tell the site supervisor. If you can't contact him you could also consider telling the brickies if you are 100% sure there's a mistake. The contract will say you can't instruct them to stop but you can still discuss the issue with them, and they can choose to brick another area first. Perhaps you can ask to see the plans they are working from and show them the plans you have. True. I think I was thinking that the OP wanted to reduce the volume of bricks for the visual effect. I guess I don't know of any other reason why someone wold want to reduce their volume of bricks?
