Browse Forums Eco Living Re: Brisbane solar power recommendations please 2May 02, 2011 1:10 am I got a 5kw system off Allsafe that is based in Bethania for my house in Jimboomba for $12,995. But it was a special they ran for a week to get rid of some older panels. We were getting a 4.1kw system off them for $12,100 at the time they run the advert and it ws going to be installed 2 weeks later and they let us do the upgrade. We are quite happy with our system and the service we got from them. They are the ones that do the green news advert every 2 weeks in the Jimboomba Times. The system looks good enough and as far as we can tell is fairly well done, with cutoff switches by the panels in case we need to cut the power there, I don't know if that is normal but should be handy if we ever need to do it (They also have the expected ones by the power box). It is pretty much generating as expected in this weather and we have sent 370kw back to the power company in the last 4 weeks with the weather it has been recently. Arfur Re: Brisbane solar power recommendations please 4May 06, 2011 2:14 pm I would of thought it would not of mattered because I would expect it to be the same as if it was dark, no power going from the panels. TBH I can't remember what order they said to switch things off, if needed I was going to use the big red sign in the switchboard (at work so can't read it atm) If I was to win Lotto, I would build with a different builder, now to win lotto Re: Brisbane solar power recommendations please 5May 08, 2011 2:50 am Like you I cant see the difference if there is a power failure. I'm just checking as I was told by my solar electrician to shut off the isolator on the switchboard first, as doing it last would cause the inverter isolator to break-down (and need replacing) after about 10 times. Might check with the folk at Whirlpool. Arfur Re: Brisbane solar power recommendations please 6May 19, 2011 1:00 pm Just had a 2KW system installed with solarsolar (www.solarsolar.com.au). They have been fantastic. Dealt with a real honest, down to earth, cheery bloke. He was completely up front with all costs and was happy to chat about the options I had. I went with the more expensive REC panels and Xantrex inverted (as opposed to the cheap chinese stuff) and I'm happy so far! So yep! Solar Solar. If you havent already I suggest you post your complaint on Whirlpool in the Green Tech forum to warn others Arfur Re: Brisbane solar power recommendations please 9May 13, 2013 10:27 am The system was ordered 5th March, it is now 13th May and it would appear it was finally up and running last week. Would also like an opinion from anyone that has used xcem over hebel for floors.
