Simple right? Took Carlisle Homes guys 6 attempts on the front face and 7 on the left face (including the inital 2 coats of the wrong colour) They need to do it right the first time. If they stuff it up, then they need to fix it right the first time. Re: Henley Render Job - Would Value All Your Opinions 9Jun 08, 2008 12:27 am Checked your blog photos out.
Holy snappin duck sh*t.....that's bloody awful....$14k....for that I don't think your being fussy you just want your facade rendered not smeared with random colors....feeling your pain louie. And Matt if your four year olds anything like mine I think they could go into business and be better able to color keep within the lines better than this job..... mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Henley Render Job - Would Value All Your Opinions 11Jun 08, 2008 7:33 am Ditto Ditto Ditto to all the above.......
I'd also ask them not to re-do it until nearing handover. If the tradies have already been careless then you don't want them to chip the new coat. Happy at Home Re: Henley Render Job - Would Value All Your Opinions 13Jun 08, 2008 7:00 pm Hi all,
What is it with some of these builders? If they paid $14g for a new car and the paint work was scratched and flaking off would they be happy with a quick touch-up on a couple of panels? I think not. No wonder so many people are put off building new when this sort of un-professional work happens, and not just with the big builders either. Look at getting the appropriate state building authority involved. Garn. Re: Henley Render Job - Would Value All Your Opinions 14Jun 08, 2008 7:53 pm Hi Louie
I voted RE-DO!!! I HATE how they think they can just do the bare minimum and talk you out of what you've paid for. I'm not an expert, either, but I am a paying customer, and even I can see that they've done a ******* job, and as a paying customer, I'd be demanding what I've paid for! Keep at them! Re: Henley Render Job - Would Value All Your Opinions 15Jun 10, 2008 9:43 am mattwalker When are these guys going to learn that you CANNOT PATCH RENDER! There are standards for this sort of thing and these "so called" repairs are rubbish. We've had some areas of our render patched, so interested to know more about these standards. Our main concern is the patched render coming away from the original render, although we have been assured this won't happen. Colour matching isn't a concern for us as our render is painted post application, which seems to be the norm in QLD. I've compiled the poll results (42 for complete re-application, 3 for patch) and some of the feedback left on this forum and forwarded them to Henley to highlight to them that I am not a ''crack pot" for being persistent on this matter. Unfortunately, I have not received any assurance from either the Supervisor or the Construction Manager that the render issue will be rectified via a complete reapplication of the render (both layers). In fact, they havent responded at all...not good. :{ Re: Henley Render Job - Would Value All Your Opinions 17Jun 12, 2008 7:35 am Goodluck with louie, I hope that they do the RIGHT thing
I would hold off paying any more $$ until you receive a satisfactory answer and the render is fixed to YOUR satisfaction. Happy at Home Re: Henley Render Job - Would Value All Your Opinions 18Jun 12, 2008 10:59 pm Henley has finally made a serious attempt to rectify the render issue.
They haven't opted for the complete reapplication of the render process, instead they have gone with the idea to patch all ******* areas and then apply two coats of render paint. Though they have decided to go with an option I was quite against, I've decided to give this approach a chance and take a look at the results in a couple of days. Re: Henley Render Job - Would Value All Your Opinions 19Jun 13, 2008 7:49 am Have you actually spoken to any rendering companies to get their perspective? They would surely tell you, whether this latest approach from your builder is satisfactory ??
