Of their eight recommended buys there were five Fisher & Paykel and three Westinghouse. They reviewed dishwashers in November last year. Recommended buys: Siemens, AEG Electrolux, Asko, Bosch. Sorry, don't have time to give you more details just now, kinder pick up time! Re: Can anyone recommend a good dishwasher and fridge 8Mar 29, 2011 10:44 am We have a Bosch dishwasher, they are very good and unbelievably quiet...most stgaes you really cannot tell it is on. Westinghouse make good fridges we have had no trouble with ours. Re: Can anyone recommend a good dishwasher and fridge 9Mar 29, 2011 10:48 am I had a smeg dishwasher although had some problems with it. Looking at Boshce for the next one. Have a westinghouse fridge and no problems to date (3.5 years old) Re: Can anyone recommend a good dishwasher and fridge 10Mar 29, 2011 12:02 pm I'll add another echo to the thread Asko dishwasher - i'd be lost without it our is one of the XXL editions so its taller than standard (hence only just fits under the benchtop with less than 1mm to spare) but it fits everything. We've got a westinghouse fridge, was the largest single door we could fit with a 840mm fridge space has been excellent so far. Re: Can anyone recommend a good dishwasher and fridge 12Mar 29, 2011 1:57 pm We have a Bosch dishwasher and side-by-side fridge and are very happy with both. However the fridge is 903 mm wide so may not quite fit in your space. Don't forget to check the height of the fridge you choose also, as a lot of the new ones are quite tall. Re: Can anyone recommend a good dishwasher and fridge 13Mar 29, 2011 2:15 pm I Have a westingouse side by side fridge and find its great - about to buy the ice and water fridge in the same style. Have had a miele dishwasher before - loved the cutlery tray - currently using a smeg in a rental property which is a bit noisy but okay, have ordered a miele for my new kitchen when i go home . i just love the cutlery tray up the top. Re: Can anyone recommend a good dishwasher and fridge 14Mar 29, 2011 3:34 pm grom40 I have a Bosch fridge (just an upside down type one) and washing machine and have to say I find their products excellent. As for dishwashers; I just have the one that my builder included (Technika) and have to say it's pretty useless. It's not that it doesn't clean well (because it does) but it is fundamentally flawed because normal size dinner plates don't fit in it! I have just standard size plates from Target and when they are put in the plate holders on the bottom shelf the washing arm doesn't spin (because it is hitting the top of the plates). I cannot believe noone bothered to check that when they designed the stupid thing As for what to look for; with fridges I would definitely make sure it has a good energy rating as I have heard they are the appliance in your house which uses the most energy (which makes sense as they are always on). Good luck with the choice Hi, we had the same problem, we had to take the two rubber stoppers on the two metal bars that slide out off on the top rack, then pull the top rack out and lift it up on to the bottom wheel, then put the stoppers back on. This raises the top rack. Maybe yours is the same. I cannot believe noone bothered to check that when they designed the stupid thing I had to double-check to see if I wrote this! That's exactly what we found with the Technika. I ended up selling it on Gumtree and getting a Bosch. It's near the top of the range, but I didn't want the cutlery rack (my boys would never unpack the thing). I often have to check to make sure it's on because it's so quiet. Fridge-wise, we have a Westinghouse side by side with ice and water. It has taken me a while to get used to the narrower fridge compartment. I think I'd get a French door one if I had my time again. Then again, we did get nearly $1k off ours, so I shouldn't complain. Judie Re: Can anyone recommend a good dishwasher and fridge 18Mar 30, 2011 4:05 pm Ok, have had a little search and my results are in. Have decided on the Asko dishwasher for $1649. Your comments made my undecided between miele and asko by when i saw them side by side the asko won hands down. Costs ALOT more than I wanted to spend but it just looks so nice and slim line. And no controls on the front of it. http://www.asko.com.au/kitchen-applianc ... ers/d5233/ Also have decided on the lg side by side fridge as it fits perfectly into our spot, has ice and water dispenser and a great price. Would of loved to go with you guys on a westinghouse but nothing tickled my fancy and when it did, it was too big. http://www.lg.com/au/kitchen-appliances ... 97DPSL.jsp Forrester 43sq We have our keys (3/6/11) Now it's time to decorate (that's the fun part.lol) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37598 Re: Can anyone recommend a good dishwasher and fridge 19Apr 14, 2011 4:39 pm What dishwasher would you recomended.
Re: Can anyone recommend a good dishwasher and fridge 20Apr 15, 2011 2:25 pm Recommend you get a dishwasher with a cutlery tray. Best improvement in dishwashers in years. And then make sure you get one that is quiet - that will be down in the 40 decibel range. And then for appearance get one that is either integrated or semi integrated meaning that there is a panel on the front door of the dishwasher that matches all the other panels of your kitchen. Definitely adds to the kitchen appearance. cheers barkly I am installing a new Bosch SMU4HTS01A built under dushwasher. I have 2 questions.
