After 2 months re-writing PCV's for things that were raised at Tender and not recorded properly, we are now having issues on site with Materials being wrong, and this is delaying the trades. The SS blames the office and the CSA blames someone else The worst part is being told little white ******, to justify PD's position on things that are wrong. Do you mean the heating and cooling? Re: Porter Davis homes 1294Mar 04, 2011 8:18 am Victoria_g06 Lunchtime If anyone is building the Platinum promotion with PD, can you advise if the network controller is 2 units or 1 thanks Network controller? Do you mean the heating and cooling? Yes, thats right. It was part of the promotional upgrades and I was kind of expecting it would be one unit that does both but apparently this isnt correct so just wanted to check Re: Porter Davis homes 1295Mar 04, 2011 8:58 am JPZ Is it worthwhile to get a independent inspection at the base stage? ie. before the slab is poured. I've heard that its important for the foundations to be right so that there's no major problems later. However, my SS tells me that there will be an inspection by the guys who issued the building permit anyway and suggests its not necessary. Hi JPZ, Your SS is quite right. The building surveyor who issues your building permit must ensure your slab is ready to build on. The building surveyor also inspects your home at frame and settlement stage. On top of this, we have arranged independent inspections with BSS Design Group at lock up, fixing, PCI and settlement stages. You can view each construction stage here on the Porter Davis blog: http://blog.porterdavis.com.au/index.ph ... -and-when/ However, it is up to you if you would like to hire an Independent Inspector in addition to the building surveyors inspections and the independent inspections by BSS Design Group. Just remember to discuss it first with your SS. Cheers, Jess. Porter Davis Homes Questions? And has anyone added insulation to the contract and roughly what did it cost? Also, are you happy with the heating unit? Hi lastone, To help answer your question, walling insulation is not a standard inclusion. All Porter Davis homes come complete with R2.5 ceiling insulation batts as standard. If you want to further insulate, speak to your sales consultant about your insulation upgrade options, including walling insulation. You can find more info on insulation the Porter Davis Blog: http://blog.porterdavis.com.au/?s=insulate Cheers, Jess. Porter Davis Homes Questions? Just ask them for a rough estimate on your timeframe for fixing stage as the duration is unique to your particular build. Every house is different depending on size and variations. Also it's dependent on weather and availability of trades. Cheers, Jess. Porter Davis Homes Questions? I would like to look into the matter further to see if I can offer any assistance. Would you mind sending me a private message with your full name, lot address, phone number, the main PD office you've been dealing with (i.e. Lifestyle East, etc) and the name of your CSA so that I can look into this for you.
