How much do you think they would deduct from our bond if we leave the door as it is? Re: How would you fix this hole in the door? 6Mar 03, 2011 3:34 pm blueblueblue Thank you all. How much do you think they would deduct from our bond if we leave the door as it is? As much as it costs to fix it. No more no less. Which may be $400 - $500 once you buy the door have it hung and painted. Maybe a bit more. Why not call a local handyman and get a quote? Maybe you can source a similar door from a Salvage yard? Still needs to be fitted properly but at least you will have the same door as looking at that looks like a 1960's or '70's number and it may be very hard to match the same timber with a door off the shelf PS: Who got angry? https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=44762 My Owner builder journey extending a 1930's Bungalow Re: How would you fix this hole in the door? 7Mar 03, 2011 10:22 pm should be able to get a door off ebay for under $20. Or you could ring some demolition yards to see if they have any. The should have something that will look close to what is there. Then a handy man to re mount it. Might need a clean up on the hinge side and also to patch the hole in the jamb. You'll have to make a new hole in the jamb for the striker. Re: How would you fix this hole in the door? 8Mar 04, 2011 7:08 am any half decent hardware supplies shop should carry these doors, espescially if they supply the trade, should be about $50, your problem will be to match the varnish finish, it will most likely look different to the esisting doors even with taking the best care. I'll take a guess & say $375-400 from the bond woodchip Re: How would you fix this hole in the door? 9Mar 04, 2011 11:18 am Woodchip stick a large plaque or coat hook over it on a batten can’t tell from the photo, a tie down rod will be 12mm, is it a steel beam? he should be able to work it out 1 3374 Water this close to the slab edge or under the slab can cause slab heave or subsidence and is potentially a serious problem especially on highly reactive clay soils.
