Wow 50m2 of carpet which works out to $17.50sq m. Just a slight difference to the $65sq m i'm being stung for the tiles. Very tempted to give it all away, there are only so many times I can be bent over and screwed on price. What they haven’t rebated back is labour and the underlay…. Total crap. They will sell u an item at full retail price and credit u back their cost price… Re: Porter Davis homes 1271Mar 02, 2011 3:35 pm tstr1a That’s differently the price of cat 1 carpet (ring up carpet court and find out). From what we were told, the "credit" for standard tiles goes towards paying for the additional tiler required to lay this size tile. We actually asked about this when we were in one of the National Tiles stores (just browsing as a regular customer) and the guy confirmed that this is correct. Also, apparently porcelain does require some expertise in laying to a high standard, so this is also factored into the "credit" for standard tiles. Our porcelain are 600X600, we priced the tiles at a National Tiles store (ceramic portofino $28.95m2 and majestic ivory polished $32.95m2 for a 30sq home and our porcelain tile bill came in at $4932 odd, go figure. $3 odd difference majority of tiles, we're having the same for floor and walls and they charged nearly $5k Splashback in the powder room with 4 tiles retail price $38.95 each and PD charged $334 These are real figures, I have the pics and quote to prove it. We questioned them on it and were pretty much told take it or leave it. Like I said, i've moved on. I decided not to go ahead with the vinyl wrap kitchen upgrade for $4k, as I had paid for a kitchen in our home already and didn't want to pay for another one. Bunnings charge $40 per standard door for a vinyl wrap door...
