Couple of friends building in Kellyville ridge with Clarendon. Good luck with ur project!! Cheers, RJ Re: Any first time home owners building? 19Jun 01, 2008 2:44 pm We're first time home builders as well, but over in WA. Initially I told my husband that I didn't want to build, and would rather buy a house to do up (as long as it was livable).
But in the end the place with the derelict house fell through (it wasn't officially on the market and person decided to keep it after all) so the next best thing we found was a really nice block out of town rather than a small and old houses in town. And here we are living in the shed with building about to start soon. Really though we could have brought a block of land in town, with a house for probably half the price it's costing us for bulding plus land. But in the end it's almost a dream house we'll end up with (well as close as you get to it with a limited budget anyway) and in a location & space where I'm happy to live for a very long time. First time 20Jun 01, 2008 4:57 pm We are building our first home. The reasons differs from my husband to me. Hubby wanted to build for the stamp duty savings. I wanted to build because I looked at quite a few established houses and they were so expensive compared to what you get. I compared the costs of buying established with the bigger house we could get if we built. I can tell you now that there is no way we could afford to buy the same sized house established that we are building.
In addition, with building you can choose everything that you want. Plus you get some of the modern conveniences, such as a theatre room, which you do not get with an established home. Thanks NativeZen! I can't wait to start landscaping, though it's going to be a while away yet. No movement on site yet as of the weekend. Hoping to see some earthworks… 3 2161 Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not? Thanks ❤️ 0 4960 I’m curious about how you went with this. We are planning a KDRB and considering Plantation Homes as a builder. I’m aware that after the demolition another soil test… 1 6328 |
