Thks for the advice. Mel Re: Porter Davis homes 1258Feb 28, 2011 8:47 pm Mel, dont be too scared - just make sure you set the expectation from the beginning. My issues are more indicitave of the building industry than PD. Everything is peared down to generate as much profit as possible and while my SS has been getting pressure from me, you can bet he has also been getting pressure from his managers to make sure the house is delivered under budget and for the highest profit. However, my issue with this is that PD promote themselves as a smaller volume builder and my sales rep said that they want to keep it this way as it allows them to focus on quality which I believe I have paid a premium for. There is always a gap between what was sold and the actual product. You have to determine what you find acceptable and push if it isnt Re: Porter Davis homes 1259Feb 28, 2011 9:15 pm Thanks guys, will be keeping everyone posted on what happens during my build I will be sure to be clear if I'm not happy & due to living 5 mins from my site I will be constantly checking on everything. Mel Re: Porter Davis homes 1260Mar 01, 2011 1:37 pm mel_mox Omg you are all scaring me, lol My site has only been cut & filled. Waiting for it to begin. Am so excited, not looking forward to having to check everything constantly though! I'm hoping that my ss is onto everything! I've actually been waiting for a phone call though for them to introduce themselves! Any of you building in the northern suburbs? Mel Hi Mel We are all excited but you do need to be invovled with checking everything, and somethings are easier to pick up than other:) we are also building in the norther suburbs, do you know who your SS is??
