The insulation they wrap your house in is apparently rated at .5 so we should have a total of 2.5 to external walls.
I hope........
Ours was the same.

Frankly, if we only make it to 5 star with the plan I will be crushed as it was picked to maximise north. But I have no clue on building costs and looking through the details I saw that I'd left my question about insulation blank - so had no idea if it was a big ticket item or not. Thanks for the feedback. Ssaz - do you have a Bonair 3 star ducted gas? Re: Porter Davis homes 1210Feb 24, 2011 6:07 am lastone Ssaz - do you have a Bonair 3 star ducted gas? Yes, we decided not to upgrade the ducted heating since we've upgraded the wall & ceiling insulations. __________________________________________ Built Camberwell 29 with PD - Hand Over was on 22/12/10 http://ssazcamberwell29.blogspot.com/ Re: Porter Davis homes 1211Feb 24, 2011 8:58 am Duration between Site Start / Scrap to Framing Stage Hello All, For all those who have now built with PD, could you tell me how many weeks it took to go from site start to completing the Framing stage? I ask as I'm a little worried that I will be overseas during this period and I want to organise a Building Inspector to inspect this stage of the build. If I'm not around, it will no doubt become more difficult to organise and communicate between Inspector & PD should there be any issues. Chorlton Hi Chorlton, It took PD about 40 days in our case, included about 2 week of delay in the slab due to weather. __________________________________________ Built Camberwell 29 with PD - Hand Over was on 22/12/10 http://ssazcamberwell29.blogspot.com/ Re: Porter Davis homes 1213Feb 24, 2011 11:46 am SSAZ Hi Chorlton, We used New Homes Inspections http://www.newhomesinspections.com.au It belongs to Kevin McDonald (Big Kev), search for him in the forums & you'll see a lot of posts about him. Hi SSAZ, Did you build a single or double storey dwelling and how many inspections did you go for? I notice that Kevin offers one at Pre-Plaster but I wasn't actually aware that was an actual building stage. If Pre-Plaster was one of the inpsections that you chose, how did you organise it with PD? Thanks in advance, Chorlton We built single storey. We had 3 inspections done, frame, pre plaster & pre handover. Frame basically they check the frame & slab. Pre plaster after the electrical rough in but before plaster is put up) they check anything done before the plaster is up and to make sure the issues in the frame inspection have been rectified, because once the plaster is up you cannot see the frame anymore & you wouldn't know whether they are fixed or not. Basically I told the SS to inform me once the electrical has been rough in & also to inform me whent he plaster will be done. Of course he didn't do so, I just went on site & saw that we were roughly up to that stage & arranged for the inspection to be done. Please tell your SS you want to meet him onsite after everything have been rectified so that you can see for yourself that they are done instead of them being ignored & they just put up the plaster. __________________________________________ Built Camberwell 29 with PD - Hand Over was on 22/12/10 http://ssazcamberwell29.blogspot.com/ Re: Porter Davis homes 1215Feb 24, 2011 12:05 pm Hi SSAZ, Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm definately thinking of using Kevin for my build. I know you used him but how would you rate the level of service? Were his reports detailed and out of interest, did he find many defects with your own home? Just interested.... If you go to the website, they have sample reports there & we got something similar to that. My SS also called them to check out with them & asked for advice on how to fix the frame. They found 5 items to be rectified for frame stage, I think about 9 for pre plaster & 27 for pre handover. __________________________________________ Built Camberwell 29 with PD - Hand Over was on 22/12/10 http://ssazcamberwell29.blogspot.com/ Re: Porter Davis homes 1217Feb 24, 2011 12:57 pm Thats made my mind up... (I would put it up the plan but don’t know how) This house you can play around with the standard Livingstone 21 design by adding more rooms to it. I am thinking of upgrading it with the 4th bed room, lounge, Rumpus and Alfresco. I really like the Lisbon 24 with PD design as well but for not much for $$ the Livingstone 27 seems the better choice. I tried to do a search on this house but can’t find anything about it on this forum, is it a new design? Any feedback would be great. Cheers Re: Porter Davis homes 1220Feb 24, 2011 4:24 pm luke11 Hello everyone, I tried to do a search on this house but can’t find anything about it on this forum, is it a new design? Yes it is a new design for 2011. good to have options. I like the 27sq layout. Moved in 25/6/11 Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 12341 Ask for references and speak to them.
