Re: Shower Head 14Mar 20, 2011 4:35 pm Bathroom newbie question - I've noticed that some rain style showerheads have plastic nozzles and some metal (you know where the water actually exits the head), what is the difference between these? I'm also concerned about (1) the rinsing of shampoo and conditioner and (2) having the option to be under the water but not get the head wet, sounds like the handheld is the answer. Shower Head 15Mar 20, 2011 5:40 pm I have never had any issues in the 15mths we have lived in this house. I can easily rinse shampoo and conditioner out under the rainhead. Plus it isn't any harder to shower under it without getting my hair wet. Our handheld is brilliant for showering the kids and cleaning the shower but personally DH and I don't use it any other time. Some things are worth waiting for. Some are actually silicone, which reduces calcium (scale) build up, and if they do, by rubbing your fingers/hands over the nozzles, you break it up. Stops blockages. In my experience with various rainshowers, generally they are pretty good for washing shampoo out, or not getting your hair wet; cheaper ones less so. Re: Shower Head 17Mar 21, 2011 10:53 pm My hubby and I are totally opposite when it comes to having a shower - he likes a dribble shower...hardly any water coming through and me... full blast, pulsating for massage on the shoulders etc.. feels like you are having a decent shower! Re: Shower Head 18Mar 27, 2011 12:36 am Kyton and PHIL, thanks for your advice! We think we've narrowed it down to a shower rail with the rain head plus a handheld. Just not sure where to put the recess and the mosaic now. Don't like the mosaic behind the rail so I think the mosaic is going to go through the recess. Re: Shower Head 19Mar 27, 2011 1:43 pm Becks -we kinda ended up the same. Ceiling mounted rain shower for DH and handheld for me, but not on a rail.....kids just got the handheld.......mean mummy....
