Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Feb 14, 2011 3:06 pm Help!! My colour scheme is below. I am wanting to know what colour I should paint my doors. We are having white on white for the walls with grey floor tiles with a brown tinge. I really want white doors but am worrying about them yellowing. How often does this actually happen? I was thinking of a light greay, but wondered if this would look funny. Your thoughts are appreciated. Re: What colour doors? 3Feb 14, 2011 6:13 pm Oh really?? I assumed we use enamel. Coral homes tells us to paint our doors white at our own risk because of yellowing. I might contact Coral and find out more. Re: What colour doors? 4Feb 14, 2011 6:35 pm yeah, there was a thread last week about it. someone asked for acrylic WHITE GLOSS and their painter did it in enamel!! eeek, and within 3 mths everything was yellowing. I cant remember the persons thread, so sorry. do a search for enamel, should come up in the last few days. anyway, I asked a few days ago what paint I should use and lex told me then if you want cream enamel, should be ok, as wont show the yellow too much, but I wanted white, so will use acrylic gloss which is pretty hardwearing and easy to clean the brushes for touch ups by me later! Re: What colour doors? 5Feb 14, 2011 6:40 pm found it, near the end lex tells us about enamel!! viewtopic.php?f=1&t=43352&hilit=enamel Re: What colour doors? 6Feb 14, 2011 7:18 pm Thanks Kiwi!! It is a bit confusing the way it was worded. I thought it mean't use those colours at your own risk, but I think they mean use enamel paint at your own risk. I don't think anything would look as nice as white.
