duke - I knew that Lis is slightly ahead of me... my concern is that they've only installed the water filter today - can't see anything else...
I should know by the end of this week when my PCI is going to happen.

One of our taps in the shower has cold water coming out when it should be hot water and vice versa, so the plumbing needs to be redone. The fall off for the drains in the laundry and bathroom is not steep enough so the water just pools instead of freely draining so some re-tiling needs to be done there. A LOT of cornice cracking to be fixed and the odd plaster and paint fix up here and there. Hopefully they can get that all fixed by this Thursday so I can get my keys Re: Lis’ Santorini – DAH - We're almost there!!! 187Feb 13, 2011 8:59 am fingers crossed Lis - I hope they can fix everything in time - but again I do hope that they do a good job not just a patch up. Good luck Preliminary agreement 23/11 Contract 22/03 Prestart 06/04 - finalised on 30/04 Unconditional approval 10/05 Demolition 05/07 Slab 26/08 Brickwork 13/09-06/10 Roof frame started 07/10 viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32292 Re: Lis’ Santorini – DAH - We're almost there!!! 188Feb 13, 2011 1:31 pm Gee it's amazing how many people need tiling redone! If they just took a bit more time to start with then they wouldn't need to come back and waste time and money. What was the result with your roof tiles? Or have they sorted those already? Oh, and what did they end up doing about the tap/mixer situation? Built with Sw1tch H0mes >Build thread< House status 15/12: Gates and A/C finally installed! If they just took a bit more time to start with then they wouldn't need to come back and waste time and money. What was the result with your roof tiles? Or have they sorted those already? Oh, and what did they end up doing about the tap/mixer situation? Yeah, bit disappointed about the tiling in general in the house, as there were a lot of things that needed to be re-done, but as long as they get it right in the end I don't really care! (Can't you tell I'm soooooo over this building business!!!) We had an inspector come in on the same day as PCI and made sure I spoke to him about my concerns regarding the roof tiles. He was up on the roof and said that all were patched in that corner spot rather than being replaced - which is apparently fine according to the inspector as they had surface chips rather than giant chunks missing. The only issue he said to be wary of is that over time, these patched areas can fade Will have to look up what sort of guarantee timewise Bristile makes on their tiles.... A Telstra line issue so who knows how long it will be for them the get it fixed... We haven't moved in yet, we want to get everything done in the house before we move in. We are very lucky to be renting off my in-laws so no rush to vacate Have been a little disappointed that some of the things that were pointed out at PCI didn't get fixed by hand-over, and have had to do some pestering to DAH to get the required companies to get in contact with us to organise a time they can come out to take a look at things. To add to our delays, we wanted to get the painting done before anything else and the guy we were planning to do our painting injured his knee and needs a knee reconstruction so we needed to find a new painter at the last minute! Luckily we were able to find one at a decent price, but lost 3 weeks in the process So far fencing is being done, electrician has been in to put in our fixtures and down lights and the painter will be finishing up tomorrow. Retic, liquid limestone, AC and carpets are the next big things to go in. We're going slowly, but we'll get there eventually Re: Lis’ Santorini – DAH - Got keys, but still so much to do 194Mar 16, 2011 9:44 pm Congrats Lis. Hope the things get sorted out soon. Re: Lis’ Santorini – DAH - Got keys, but still so much to do 195Mar 16, 2011 11:21 pm With similar wise words from Bags... Photos please... Especially the liquid limestone job. Re: Lis’ Santorini – DAH - Got keys, but still so much to do 196Mar 17, 2011 12:59 pm You are so lucky Lis - we had to move out of our rental on the hottest day of Feb had to drop everything in the living/dining area and wherever we found a bare spot as we didn't have the garage door installed at handover. Then the following week when the garage door was finally installed we had to move evertying in the garage. At leaset we are able to move around the house.. I can't take time off work - I'm a contractor so if I don't work I don't get paid - as a result I have to do my painting at night after work or in the weekends... I currently live in 3 tops (t-shirts) and 2 pairs of pants... everything else is tucked away as the dust is so bad... Waiting for the bank to release the funds and the shire to issue the building licence for our retaining so we get some privacy... at the moment I have no fencing around - lucky I bought those Blinds in a Box - they are brilliant.... I should've bought a few longer but I managed to put DAH's old signs at the bottom of the longer windows to achieve privacy... I'm hoping that in 3 weeks I can walk around the house without shoes... Glad to hear your journey is almost at an end. We've been admiring your house on our walks, it looks fantastic. I know what you mean about just wanting it to be over! It'll be all yours soon, safe and snug for winter Have you seen the new nature area near the open field? Nice little spot to take a wander. We've got 2 ha of public parkland going in across the estate on the other side of the major road too as part of a new development going up there. Re: Lis’ Santorini – DAH - Got keys, but still so much to do 198May 21, 2011 10:40 am Thanks V! Ooh didn’t know about the public parkland happening across the road. Sounds like a good spot to take the fur-kid for his walkies We’re slowly getting there, had a few hold ups that have prevented us from moving in. We were really hoping to be in by April, but now it looks like June And just to add to the list of things to worry about and plan, we’ve found out that there will be an addition to our family making his/her arrival in September Must really get on to planting that money tree in the backyard - with a new house and baby stuff to buy funds are going to be pretty low House progress so far is that the painting has been done, flooring installed, light fittings are in, glass splashback installed, wardrobe and laundry fit-out done and blinds are due to go in on Tuesday. The main thing that has prevented us from moving in is not having our liquid limestone driveway poured and the paths around the house. All I can say to anyone thinking about getting liquid limestone or poured aggregate is do NOT go with Solution Liquid Limestone. This company has been nothing but a giant PITA! After paying our booking deposit way back in March, and after weeks and weeks and WEEKS of waiting, broken promises and complete lack of communications (from the managing director!) we told them to give us our deposit back and that we’ll be taking our business elsewhere! We lost almost 2 months waiting for them to get their act together but now I’m making it my mission to tell anyone and everyone not to go with this unprofessional and incompetent company! *Rant over* Anyway, we’ve booked with a new company who is due to start work on our place today – Stay tuned… Re: Lis’ Santorini – DAH - Got keys, but still so much to do 199May 21, 2011 10:54 am Jeebies Lis! You should be warm and cozy in your new house by now! Those Solution Liquid Limestone guys need a whip cracked over them, get a wriggle on you slowbos On the bright side, that's awesome to hear about all the little things getting put in. How does the spashback look? And on the brighter, bright side... we're expecting the first Little Vundaful in November so high five to us mamas Re: Lis’ Santorini – DAH - Got keys, but still so much to do 200May 21, 2011 11:02 am Congratulations on the new baby! but grr to 2 months wasted time!
