A potentially bad news was in the mail box today. We are first home builder and just about to start construction very soon (got all the approval/certificates/etc). We just received a notice from the real-estate agent managing the unit we are renting announcing the owner is putting the property for sale.
Been there before... this might be followed by a notice to vacate the place if it is sold and the new owners are owner-occupiers.
I am not sure what to do. Perhaps it is best to be proactive and immediately search for another rental and sign up a 6 months contract? I am assuming Construction will likely last about 8 months (it is a double storey house) so this would be good timing. Otherwise if we wait and are forced to movie out after a sale (say in 2-3 months from now) we might be at risk of having our new house just ready while being still stuck on a new rental contract?
Has anyone been in this situation? What would you advise?
