The lady at Beacon told us that the timber fans are wquiter and better for the bedroom. Though they look cheap. I like the stainless ones. Our old house had stainless in the bedrooms but they were too noisy to have on when we slept. I am so confused. LOL. We were looking at getting the fans put in after handover. I am thinking we should just get it over and done with. We are going to have so much to do when we move in and will probably never get around to putting the fans in. Re: Tamara1975 - Coral Homes - 93Jan 31, 2011 10:47 pm The non metal are quieter, but we used to run them full pelt and they didn't move the air as much. Which is why we didn't want them this time, we've got higher ceilings and in a hotter environment, so I need fans that work. We've metal fans in the rental here, they'd be 8 years old and they're not noisy enough to keep us awake, but they are quieter than the 15 year old ones in our old house. You need to find a showroom that has the different styles working, so you can see/hear/feel the difference. Are you putting one outside? What sort are you looking at for there? I have no idea what sort of fan for the outdoor areas. ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Re: Tamara1975 - Coral Homes - 94Jan 31, 2011 11:56 pm Tamara1975 Our contracts should be here tomorrow!! We bought our glass pool fencing today. The place was closing down and we got frameless fencing cheaper than we could get semi frameless!! I could have spent a fortune in there. Everything was so cheap. We also stopped of at beacon lighting and got some lights. I am looking forward to buying all the little bits and pieces!! Ooooooh could you please let me know where you got your pool fencing from? Do they have any left? We only need enough to do about 10 metres. Re: Tamara1975 - Coral Homes - 95Feb 01, 2011 8:41 am Pebbles, I can't remember what they are called but the address is 1 Wain rd, ashmore. We found it on ebay. We got 10 metres of frameless with 12mm glass for $1600. They are out of gates but are ordering one in. We spent ages in the shop wandering around. Once everything is sold out, thats it. They had plenty of glass panels but the clamp thingy's for the bottom were running low. Re: Tamara1975 - Coral Homes - 97Feb 02, 2011 9:11 am Pebbles Thanks Tam Will check it out! Did you have a look? Our contracts arrives yesterday, as did our loan documents. Feeling a bit overwhelmed. We have started seriously thinking about exterior colours. There aren't a lot of bricks we like but we both love Austral Pepper. Monier have made it easy by putting together roofing tiles with facia and guttering colours on their website. We just have to see which roof tile works best and it is done. I also have to decide on the white for the walls. I was disappointed in the range for the bathroom vanities. We want charcoal/black. The only thing close is liquorice linea. Some pics make it look a browny colour. Has anyone seen this colour? What do you all think? Otherwise we will pay the extra and get charcoal. Coral builders, there are a couple of mistakes on the contract/working drawings that we want fixed. Does anyone know if they charge for this? Because we haven't signed yet, I am guessing they won't. Arrggghhhhh too much going on in my head. I am off on a shopping trip to Bali with the girls in 2 weeks. I am sooo gonna need it. Re: Tamara1975 - Coral Homes - 98Feb 02, 2011 5:32 pm There were a couple of things on the plan that the Sales Rep didn't convey to them properly, so they fixed them via a variation. I wasn't charged for this. They did try and charge me a variation fee for supplying them with the details of our ducted air-con system, as apparently the Sales Rep didn't provide the information pre-contract and they tried to charge me a variation ... but I argued that one. ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Re: Tamara1975 - Coral Homes - 99Feb 02, 2011 5:51 pm I spoke to our sales rep and he said it was easily fixed. I am getting excited. My tiles are going to look awesome (well, I think so). For our splashback, I have copied the coral hamilton display home in Upper Coomera (will add a pic later). It's really the only tiles one I like and the budget won't stretch to a glass one at this stage.
